There was so much going on differently the last few games. Umbrella with Laich at top and Ovi at Left half wall/Dman depending on rotation. But he was still responsible for the D position ala that MP turnover with JC last game.

When I say half wall, I mean specifically in an overload PP formation with a guy to Ovi's left along redline, two PP points, and one guy in slot.

When Ovi worked in THAT position. He sucked a duck. Semin goes there. Has better puck control. And Ovi goes to point where he had more space at first. In theory that set-up is nice... til things go wrong and Ovi plays 2 min, Semin tries crazy seam passes, and they don't establish zone time.

W or L on the scoreboard, i'll be happy if the caps play for 60 minutes, pressure the blues in the offensive zone and dont look at least completely clueless in the d zone.

Be there or watching, or Dale will Ulf you. Naturally, the Pens feed says Ulf was ailing, Ulf was asking if he wanted to go, yeah right. They barely showed his bloody visor, nor him on the ice as Dale was already getting stitched up. Classic Dale, stick in hand, right in the face.

I was at that game, I remember Dale holding Ulf up so he could keep wailing on him after he broke his cheekbone. Ulf's face was so bloody after it looked like pounded veal.

I'm really excited about this game I just hope I get the CSN feed because I cannot stand Darren Pang and that other guy. I don't expect an instant turn around, but I do expect adrenaline running with the Caps under DH. I figure it will take a few weeks to get things going under his system. I'm going to say Ovechkin gets a hat trick. Caps win.

I imagine DH will tell Green to toughen up or retire. Before he does that, I am going to guess he'll explain to him he has so much untapped talent and should work through pain. As for Hamrlik, DH is most likely going with the long term veteran to see what he has. I can see DH getting in Hamrlik's face if he continues to be as bad as he is and put Schultz in.

Yay for sure. His shot last game was super. He sure can fire the puck.

I wouldn't expect too much from Ovi, not this early. Hunter said he wasn't going to completely change BBs system overnight, so chances are we'll see more of the same, perhaps with more effort.

That's all this has ever been about IMO. Effort.

You guys have to see this. I made this in keeping with the current "New Hope" theme with Dale Hunters arrival. Good stuff, though since it's my material it'll probably suck. Wish I could embed it, for some reason it spaces out the text weird so yeah.

I have absolutely no idea what to expect from this team tonight, and for the rest of the season. I think that makes it more fun.

Most pumped for a game since the Tampa series. Let's go boys! Love the Hunter hire, I think it's going to do wonders for the character of this team. I'm expecting primadonna Ovie to be gone.High flyin Ovie back. Gonna be a good one tonight.

Good luck tonight guys, and congratulations on the new coach. You should be able to beat us with Pietrangelo out with the flu, and the wall that is Brian Elliott getting a break. I'm ready to see Halak stand on his head against a barrage of shots from the great eight! Here's to a barn burner!

lost in the insanity...blues are a hell of a team. best in the league that no one talks about. play a gritty game, deep, just a huge bunch of very sound two-way players. jealous in some ways how theyve been built. if they get solid netminding theyll be a tough out in the playoffs.

good test for the caps anyway. they get in hard on the forecheck so if we see the zone cleared and any sort of sense/cohesion, that'd be a big step up.

Same question about streams!

I have only found a blues stream so far (the one on firstrowsports.net) and one of the commentators lost me when he claimed that in his opinion Backes was the best all round centre in the NHL now.
