What impact will Markov's return have on Montreal?

- Should improve the PP rather dramatically

- 5 on 5 play should improve, especially with #79 & #76 on different pairings

- Puck distributions in all zones should improve

- Forwards will reap the benefits of Markov's ability to find the open man

Although, his impact will have to be measured over the long term...not necessarily 5-10 games after he returns...fans are going to have to be patient.

I doubt we'll see an immediate impact, I think it will take him a few games to settle in.

-Major trickle down effect on the D core
-PP should improve
-Transition game should get better
-Take pressure off Subban

Pleks off the point. Back down low where he is more effective.

Cross ice one timer to cammy.

Precise shot on the left point.

Less pressure on subban and all other defense. Allowing them to perform better overall.

Overall much more dangerous pp.

Not necessarily impact from him alone, but residual effects on other players

- Make listening to TSN 990 from 10-1 bearable.

I'm guessing he'll be coming back too early and the first time he gets hit, he'll go down and miss the rest of the season.....so he'll have very little impact on the Habs!!!

Of course I'm hoping that he comes back, scores 50 points and leads the Habs to 1st in the East and to an eventual Stanley Cup victory, but I have no reason to believe that he'll be able to stay healthy for the rest of the season!!

I wonder if CBC is going to cancel their original broadcast to air the return of Markov.

a big one, people usually don't know what kind of confidence it brings to the forwards and other players in the team..

I bet you that Subby will shine again! He cannot keep playing around mediocre players.

If he stays healthy,

PP % will go up
All the players will be fired up
better 5 on 5
less min on gill, spacek, diaz, emelin, weber, gorges, subban.

I think he will have a solid impact 1 ppg and 1a. He will be a plus player and will get 15-20 minutes of ice-time. I dont expect him to be amazing out there. It will take about 5 games to get into it then another 5 to get in his groove.

I remember last year when he came back against the Islanders and played exceptionally well. I think he got 1 goal on the pp that night.
I am expecting something similar to that.

They have a .630 win % with him in the lineup since the lockout. His return is huge.

Martin will make Markov play on the 4th line to get his groove back, and he will develop into a reliable 20G 2nd liner.

Book it.

Unless he has a big impact, this team will not make the playoffs.
