Should be a fun game. Another huge name in Ovy for Mr. Selke to try and shut down

Hopefully there are kinks that Hunter hasn't had time to fix yet. Halak will have to come up big tonight. Have to shut down Backstrom.

If we come out like we did against Columbus, it could be a long night.

Maybe tonight will be the night that the Stewart/Berglund/D'Agostini lines breaks out....

The Blues are 3 points from top in the West and 1 point from 9th and out of the playoffs. Every game is crucial.

Honestly I want Backes on Backstrom (he scares me more than OV) Then you have Oshie or Steen on Ovechkin.

I think the big thing tonight is going to be weathering the early storm. New coach = strong early effort. Also we can not give up as many odd man breaks/ breakaways with this team, much more talent than CBJ and they will burn us.

Sidenote, I am a huge fan of Backstrom and would give just about anything to get him in the Bluenote.

tough one. since we all know how good a coaching change can work out I guess the caps come out strong tonight, especially AO

plus if Pie can`t play would really be bad...but since we have Backes everything will be ok

LETS GO BLUES!

Fairchild get the start tonight maybe? Tonight will be a tough game, extremely talented team, first game with a new coach has a recipe for disaster. Gotta get our offense going tonight and gotta have less odd man rushes against, you can get away with those against Calgary and Colombus but Washington will make you pay. Dont have a good feeling about tonight.

Confirmed? Blues have been playing great as of late but this would be the time for stewart and berglund to turn it on.

Caps - 3 Ovi, Backstrom, Chimera
Blues 2 - Backes, Shattenkirk.

Going up against an offensively loaded team that just fired it's coach is not the best time to lose your best defenseman. I hope we can squeeze a point out of tonight's game. Maybe if Halak can tap into his 2010 playoffs mojo, we'll have a chance (that is, if he's starting).

On the other hand, I'm excited to see Cade Fairchild make his NHL debut.

If he makes it...

@icetimecleve
Dave Eminian
Rivermen pulled Fairchild off ice late in practice for his call to Blues. He is driving to Chicago for flight to Wash. Might not make it.

Yeah we may be rollin 13 forwards. As someone at the Asylum mentioned, let Stewy play defense and see if he's got some byfuglien in him!

Edit:
Jeremy Rutherford
RT @Bsawyer135: @jprutherford any fear Fairchild won't make it on time tonight?... I'm now told he's expected to be here in plenty of time.

With Pietrangelo out, I'm not too optimistic about this game. If Berglund and Stewart don't show up, we will probably have a lose. We won't be able to be the Caps by scoring 2 goals. We need a powerplay and a 2nd line.

This is gonna be a tough one. If we get a point I'll gladly take it. No Pie, first game for Caps with a new coach at their place. But if D'ags, Berg, Stewart finally get going that'll help the PP and we're a very dangerous team.

1) New Coach for the Caps
2) Lots of offensive talent for Caps
3) No Pie
4) Halak in Goal

What does that equal?

Halak continuing his great play and Berglund or Stewart actually scoring?
