In the east, it's them or Pitts.
yep. they might be the two best teams in the league this year. Thomas is being amazing again, putting Schneider like number.

How nice would that be? Tied at the end of regulation, they both lose a point. Whoever loses in OT or the shootout loses two points!
THEN we'd see some freakin' offense! LOL!

The Hawkd board called him LOLongo, and 7uongo. I'd love to see the Canucks score eight on their guy so we can call him Corey O-fer'd.

That it is. I guess it's best to take the high road, and compliment Toews on his laid back personality and dazzling smile.

All this talk about our smug players...those little snots Kane and Toews have made some of the more arrogant comments I've ever heard.

The Bruins beat the Leafs 6-3 and go 12-0-1 for November.

And The Nuge scores for the Oil and they take 1-0 lead over the Wild.

I can't wait till Weber pulverizes Boston when they play Nashville.

You just know that Shea won't take **** from any of them.

If RNH keeps this up, he may be the best rookie we've seen since Crosby. I'm not a Hall fan at all, and I've said that since they drafted him, but I am insanely jealous that the Oilers have RNH.

Yup. It's not right: ''tank for a couple seasons and insert two superstars instantly''.

I have faith Kevin Lowe will manage to **** all of this up though.

Agreed. RNH is having an astonishing start. Van dodged a huge bullet with the Oilers drafting Hall instead of Seguin. Always take the smarter player. They would have been a nightmare to contain moving forward. As it is, RNH will have to do it himself... Scary thing is, he probably can.

Unless the Oil builds around Nuge, I can't see him wanting to stay in Edmonton unless they offer him crazy money. No more draft pickups, I mean serious rebuild around him as the focus.

RNH doesn't take the pounding Hall does, despite being less physically strong. Hall is a good player, but RNH is just wow.
You're right, Seguin is a smarter player than Hall.

@TheSportMarket:

Remarkable fact that aggregate profits of @MapleLeafs, New York Rangers & @CanadiensMTL ($171M) is more than rest of @NHL league combined.

Ticketing & broadcast revenues (TV & radio) could very well push @VanCanucks ahead of Chicago, Boston & Detroit in future @NHL valuations.

With @VanCanucks at $300M mark, they're within 10-12% striking distance of Chicago ($306M), Boston ($325M) & Detroit ($336M) valuations.
A good time to own a team in Vancouver. The Olympics set the bar so high.

Those figures are from the Forbes Magazine evaluation of NHL franchises.

2-1 Oilers over the Wild - RNH with a goal and an assist.

1 assist in 20 games.

Last season 80GP 15G 19A 34Pts.

I think they are stupidly trying to turn him into a 3rd line defensive forward.

He's not shiny and new.

He lacks finishing ability...it was a problem coming out of the draft, and it still is.

He has all the physical attributes, but he seems like his finish will come as he gets older like Kesler did...

Hall is only 19 himself, dodging of the Seguin bullet might prove to be completely irrelevant because of his (RNH) chemistry with Eberle. Those 2 have scary chemistry, almost like they're twins or something Obviously RNH is a better finisher than Hank, and Daniel is a better passer than Eberle, but they clearly "click", whether Hall, or MSP, ever turn out to be good line-mates for them or not. He already does not have to do it himself.

I can't really imagine any scenario where Hopkins would look to force a trade, or sign an offer sheet, based on his personality, and his fit with that team. 7 years minimum until he's a UFA, might as well get used to seeing him in an Oil Spillers uni, at least he makes them interesting to watch (and we'll see them a lot more than we'd see him with Tampa (or whoever).

It's basically a best case scenario. If we're not good enough (in the future) to take on a RNH-Eberle led Oiler team, or a Duchene-Landeskog lead Avs team....then we're not contenders anyway, so at least we'll be entertained in the process. vs being non contenders who routinely get beat by boring but solid teams.

Brodeur gets shelled again. I don't see any way he doesn't retire after this season.

Perfect trading partner for the Canucks in my opinion. If only we could somehow get Larsson out of there...

Hey, I'm glad to see the Oil starting to be a team that looks more like a competitor. I hope that the Nuge stays and becomes a cornerstone going forward. Hall is great, but I see it like Nuge >>> Eberle >> Hall. I just can't see Hall withstanding injuries unless he refines it a bit.

And TSN just mentioned that Sam Gagner has gone 20 games without a goal - his last goal was last season in March.

Remember when Cogliano and Gagner were the wunderkinds???
