The Canadian media love affair with Crosby never ceases to amaze me. Pierre Maguire was announcing every time Crosby stepped on the ice. He prefaced everything with "The Pens have Crosby....."

During the 5-on-3, with a full minute left, he was saying...."Pens will have Crosby and Malkin rested"

Out of control.

I don't understand why people (not directed at you) base the reffing on quantity instead of quality. Orpik's play on Callahan was a penalty, it may not have been 10 years ago, but it is now. Kunitz's hit was borderline, but the slash beforehand deserved to be called, in fact it could have been a double.

Then you have plays like McDonagh taking Kunitz's stick, and he wrecks him after the fact. No call there.

The call on Richards involved with Orpik was laughable as well.

Call me crazy, I think the officiating still favored Pittsburgh, but not enough to be furious about it.

my god if theres anything that can put you in a bad mood its the ****ing nhl page on facebook.

i was reading some comments on richards goal that the NHL page posted on facebook and my god its unbearable to hear pens fans. not to mention the fans of random teams that comment for no reason and just say "rangers suck, go (insert team name)!"

I for one was agreeing with you. It was terrible to begin and then became more balanced. That still equates to favoring Pitt.

Was at the game. Refs sucked major ass in the 1st period. Lundqvist rightfully so punched that ****er in the face. Great game all around. Entertaining, tense, full of drama, and the Rangers come out with the win.

Boy is Hagelin proving to be a great addition. Mitchell is playing very well too. Richie came up huge tonight with a 1+2.

Swept the Caps, Flyers, and Pens. Wow, get ****ed.

No argument from me; I'm a big MDZ fan. That's why people are getting on him, though.

I know the comment was directed at me but I acknowledge the fact the officiating was awful all around. I think it still favored Pittsburgh but it could have been much worse.
At this point I don't expect quality officiating, but I'm at least hoping its reasonably even.

That's a pretty good point.

I guess I'm just confused when I see "New York Giants" with a picture of Richards with his arms up at the Garden underneath

We have the New York Giants, the New York Football Giants... and now the New York Hockey Giants. Get rid of the name Rangers anyway.

I'm gonna be honest I was questioning how much of a homer I was by still being a little upset with the 1st period officiating after the game. I agree it was brutal, and when you feel that way in a win something's gotta be off.

Epic November is EPIC

Just watched the highlights. Mitchell's goal was a beaut. He and Hagelin are really making the most out of it. Way to go boys!

Like setting up what was eventually the GWG and making the breakout pass off the glass that led to the Richards goal.... He also made some smart defensive plays in his own zone in the 1st period.... Sadly, that one really bad turnover will be all that a lot of fans will remember of his game tonight. He finished +1 on the night logging all that ice time and is now +8 on the season.

Haha it wasn't directed at you. You were the most recent post related to the officiating so I quoted you. And I don't have a problem with you thinking different about the officiating, my gripe is just about how people feel the number of calls needs to even up, as opposed to the quality. 4 ****** call out of 6 is not an equal game to 1 ****** call out of 6 (just an example, I don't know the stats from tonight).

I'll never understand makeup calls or posts like "the Rangers better get a PP soon", that's all.

How'd he not get an assist on the Richards goal?

Edit: Watched again, he wasn't near getting one haha.

Hate to be controversial but I will say it anyway...

If Demitra didn't pass away in the Lokomotiv plane crash....we don't see AS motivated of a Gaborik as we are this season.

I really believe he uses that as extra inspiration every time he hits the ice. In a way he's playing for him.

I think the star of the game was Stan Fischler for asking the most embarrassingly idiotic questions when Crosby was answering questions.

Where is the guy that always tries to convince folks that Gaborik is awful?

He is back to 09-10 form. Maybe better.

I mean maybe but what about his first season with us where he scored 42 goals and had almost 90 points?

He was hurt and injured last season. All there is to it.

Like a mix of Jagr and C. Hagger (Hagger instead of Hagelin obviously...or maybe call him Hagr. Not that Im drawing comparisons because im not Im just taking a well liked ranger name and thats it.
