The Official Carl Hagelin Thread
This dude deserves his own thread. This kid has been fantastic so far since hes been called up. Oh man he got some wheels, hands, can pass, and a decently good shot. A goal and 2 assists in his first 3 games for a rookie and I feel that he can put up alot more with the way he plays. This kid will stick and will make an impact on our 3rd line. . I feel that he would be even better on a line with Richie though. He is making a great name for himself.

So great to watch.
Hagelin 10 shots 3 games compared to EC 8 shots in 16 or something like that.
Plus his speed is what we need, he hustles in ways EC can only read about.
Keep him

Skates hard on every shift as soon as the puck drops, always hustling and shows some good creativity (that setup on the Mitchell goal tonight was beautiful). Lets not forget that hair

It's similar to Crosby's, but flesh colored. Therefore, it is worse.
As for Hagelin, I adore this kid. Unreal speed, he creates havoc on every shift. Awesome player to have on the third line, put him on the PP damn it.

This kid will be the perfect 3rd line LW, fast, can kill Penalties, chip in with some goals.
he's made Boyle more effective as well.

Maybe they can get Dubi going by playing him with Hagelin and Mitchell. Would also get Boyle to 4th line where he belongs.

Myself, I'd say a regular 40ish point play realistically, maybe a 55-60 point player.
His ultimate upside is a somewhat pseudo-Loui Eriksson. But that's a longshot.

Been a fan of this pick since draft day 2007 - always said he had a decent shot at 2nd line upside.
Agree with others that his debut reminds me of Cally (when he came back up after his brief demotion). Also agree that I wouldn't mind seeing him get a look on the first or second line or on the 2nd PP unit at some point this year.

His early indication of cycling along with playing all out reminds me a lot of our captain when he first came up.

He looks just desperate to get the puck and that is really admirable. Just like cally.

He played hard at Michigan but not this hard. You have to wonder if he is capable of playing at this level of effort over a full NHL season.

I want to see Kreider AND Hagelin's speed on the same NHL roster... Adds a different dynamic to the team out on the ice because the opposing team's D is forced to react and move the puck so much faster with the type of skating those two possess....

Please God, let him not be sent down or scratched for the likes of... well for the likes of anybody.
And please God, tell Tortorella's gut to tell him to put Hagelin on the power play. Maybe that will get some movement and unpredictability out there.
