The whole team sucked. Thanks to a Roy **** up in game 4, the series went 7 games. No McKay and no Niedermayer certainly didn't help either.

Please win...preferably in a method that is impressive instead of a CBJ/NYI style game

No Bourque on the roster - I think we'll have a fair game by the refs.

Elliot, O'Brien, O'Byrne, O'Reilly, McLeod, McClement, - wtf are we stepping into the middle of an Irish-Scottish war?

this was great too..roy trying to be marty
Actually, Marty modeled his game after Roy. Roy was an elite puckhandling goalie. One thing I remember about game 6 was when Scott Gomez had a goal disallowed from a kicking motion. I knew right then and there we were doomed.

roy was nowhere near as good as handling the puck as marty. he started to later in his career, but never became that good at it. better than average at best. i'm pretty sure i read somewhere that marty said he was so aggressive with playing the puck because he saw how good hextall was at it. also, marty's idol may have been roy, but he certainly didn't model his game off of him. when marty was younger he refused to go to a certain goalie school (can't remember the name) because they taught the butterfly style, made famous by roy.

it's my theory, most likely not true, that roy was jealous of marty's puckhandling skills, but was never very successful at playing the puck. roy may have been better than marty in almost every other way, but puckhandling is something that roy was NEVER better at.

Those Stanley Cup videos got me wondering. How much do playoff tickets cost in relation to regular season face value? And how hard are they to get?

Indeed, unlike the rigged SCF of 2001

47 powerplays to 29 !?!? And the Devils (even at that time) were the least penalized team in the NHL for near on ten years

That series was rigged for Bourque the Dork

IIRC in the regular season series the Devils routed the Avs in NJ 6-1 and in the return fixture in Denver trounced them 6-3.
Take away those phantom penalties and the Devils win that series in 5 games.

Probably 10-20% more. Something like that. I got discounts for season tickets.

I follow the Avs. They aren't bad. Marty is gonna be real busy. This team takes over 30 shots per game usually, and back in the habit of our 3rd periods we were having before the Islanders it will surely be over 40. We can't take 40 shots coming at us, and expect not to allow a few goals.

This Avs team is very young, and aside from Hejduk not a lot of veterans, and even less depth than our roster. While this team should be no problem beating it's not a team to screw around with. The rest of the team wore Marty out pretty bad, and Hedberg between the 2nd Capitals game, and Blue Jackets game.

it's weird, probably one of the best goalie matchups ever in the stanley cup finals and neither played great the same game. except for maybe game two which was 2-1 iirc.

Well, Roy was near the end, he had an excuse. Marty had his chance, and he blew it.

agreed, and i think he knew that. but to be fair, our team did not play up to it's potential for most of that series.

Nieds got f'd up by Tie Domi back in the series against Toronto. I don't remember if he missed a few games or not. I don't think he missed many, but he wasn't 100%

Why can't they split the Kovalchuk, Parise line? I can't get over this! They don't need to be on a line together! It's too coincidental that they are doing bad right now the both of them.

I just realized 2 out of Zach's 6 goals weren't really goals. A penalty shot, and an empty netter. That was him who got the empty netter right? I think we need them on different lines though. If it doesn't click after this game they need to do something.

Gonna miss this one, will watch it early in the morning.

Play a typical road game and get a win.
