47 powerplays to 29 !?!? And the Devils (even at that time) were the least penalized team in the NHL for near on ten years
That series was rigged for Bourque the Dork
IIRC in the regular season series the Devils routed the Avs in NJ 6-1 and in the return fixture in Denver trounced them 6-3.
Take away those phantom penalties and the Devils win that series in 5 games.
Not to sell the Avs short but, that series sucked for a 7 game series. The Dallas series even though it went only 6 the games were much closer and evenly played. Roy outplayed Marty and thats were we lost.
Looks like Bourque, Blake, Sakic, Forsberg, Hejduk, Foote, Tanguay, Drury and Roy will be scratched for the game. Jesus, how did we even take these guys to 7? That Devils team was soo good and it would have been another win if Nieds was even close to 100%
Anyway, I'm excited to see Landeskog. Hes enjoying a pretty good rookie campaign, as is Larsson. Should be a good one
When is Salvador going to get a rest and why did we call up Urbom, just to send him down the following day?
I can't wait to get Zajac back into our lineup. Like that DeBoer will have to do something regarding the Parise-Henrique-Kovalchuk line. If Yayo comes back before Zajac, I don't think it will help to break that line up since he might just slide him on the 3rd line and demote Carter to our 4th line.
That top unit needs to be slip up. They are the complete opposite of the Elias line, who's been carrying this team for the past couple of weeks if not more.
2001 was the first season we had season tickets...IT SUCKED!!

Usually the 1st two rounds are the same price and then the 3rd and 4th go up.
I wish I could find a ticket stub from back then..but I know in 2003, the face value of my ticket was $60 or $80...we were up in 241, in the $20 seats and I had someone outside over me anywhere from $500-$800 for my ticket for Game 7.
Most gut-wrenching year of my life, sports and personal. **** Ray Bourque.
Now, onto this year, I know the Avs are slumping but they are a dangerous team up front with Stastny, Duchene, Landeskog and Hejduk. Varlamov is hot and cold, so I'll definitely be interested to see how he performs.
That 4th line scares the crap out of me for us though, yeesh.

I'm looking at my game 4 stub from the '01 finals.....section 109 was $150
edit: (and to correct my post from last night, I was at games 4 and 6 not 3 and 5 looked at the wrong season and wrong series last night )
In 2001, I was offered $1,100 cash for each ticket (I had two) in Section 226 for Game 6 SCFs. I should have known better that the Cup was all for Ray Bourque and should have sold the tickets to the guy in the parking lot.
