Adam Hall re-signed for $600k, Nate Thompson got $900k. I would guess somewhere between those two, probably closer to $700 though.

Financial apology. SFY cleans up Brisebois' mistake.

Good Job SFY! Should continue to be a fixture on our bottom 6, love watching the work ethic of the DNA line.

lol. If anyone should be apologizing, it's Tyrell for being waiver exempt at the start of the year.

That is an impressive deal to sign on the basis of 2 games. (Oh Cedrick...)

Hall also only signed a 1-year deal, which is interesting. I think he has the leverage to get a raise this time around.

You're probably right about what Tyrell is making since his QO would have been $715,000.

Safe to say that this deal pretty much ends the Blair Jones era. Still say we try and flip him to Calgary and see if Feaster will give us a first rounder for him. Revenge for the Gratton trade.

Tampa Bay Lightning wing Dana Tyrell said he never doubted the organization’s commitment to him, even when he was sent down to AHL Norfolk as one of the last cuts out of training camp.

“They definitely stayed positive towards me and kept in touch with myself and my agent. I knew they had plans for me,” Tyrell said. “I knew they were showing a commitment, so it shows their loyalty.”
Quote:
“I was concerned at the time,” GM Steve Yzerman said of sending Tyrell to Norfolk. “I didn’t want to set a young player back, and doing something like this, my concern was how was this going to affect him? We asked him to go down and play hard and compete hard and he did exactly that.”

“It might turn out to be a blessing in disguise,” Tyrell said. “Everything happens for a reason. I was able to go down there and work on my game. Getting recalled last week and getting my contract extended is exciting and it does show Tampa’s commitment to me, so that shows a lot.”

Very happy for Tyrell. Great for him and great for the Lightning. I would think this almost guarantees Adam Hall will be back for another year or two as well. That line is the PERFECT 4th line. And they all also play in important situations.

I think with the stability we will start to see a little more of an offensive side from Tyrell. We have already seen it a little bit since he has been back, he should have had a goal against FL but hit Theodores helmet somehow, and he made a great play along the boards to win the puck and nice between the legs pass to Purcell to set up the Stamkos goal the last game.

Very happy.

Why am I not surprised SFY was able to get Tyrell for less than his QO?

I love this kid, and this is probably pure homerism... but I think we have the best fourth line I've seen. We can put those guys out there for 15+ minutes a game and they'll control the pace and contribute big time.

We have great 1st, 2nd and 4th lines. Is the 3rd line our problem?

Who would you say constitutes our 3rd line? Moore, who is definitely not the problem, and two guys who aren't in the top six that night?

Our forwards aren't the problem.

It is hard to improve our goal and defense this year. Our 3rd line seems to be the ill defined line

When you say it's hard to improve our goal and defense this year, I hope (and I'm almost certain) you mean in terms of trading for upgrades. We have two 2nd round picks in this year's draft (in addition to expiring contracts in Clark and Kubina that could be added to the deal), so I can definitely see SFY being able to trade for a top 4, second pairing defenseman. Goaltending, on the other hand, may have to wait until the off-season to be addressed.
