The worse thing was playing him on the point on the PP. The guy scores off the side boards with a beauty release and Sacco puts him on the point

Frankly I don't think he was NHL material, let alone top-6 material. Did Sacco misuse him? Probably, but I just think the guy was way too easy to knock off the puck.

The Joakim Lindstrom Era in Avalanche team history is over. Rather than accept an assignment to Lake Erie, after being placed on waivers yesterday by the Burgundy and Blue, Lindstrom is heading back to his native Sweden to pursue hockey employment there.

According to Dater, he didn't fit in with the rest of the guys either and just sat in the corner and not talk much, so I imagine that only made him want to go back even more.

I thought Hlinka was misused a bit and could have found a role in the NHL. I didn't get the same feeling from Lindstrom. Just never seemed to look like he had a place in any role.

On a team that struggles going to the slot and the front of the net Lindstrom was the worst offender.

Lando isn't going anywhere but maybe we can get a Fin to balance him out for you.

Vaananen or Laaksonen aren't doing anything right now. Just collecting A's.

As for Lindström, it didn't work out. But that's OK. Those sorts of signings are shots in the dark, anyway. Potential reward for no risk, if it doesn't work out, nothing is lost. He helped fill a spot while the team had some injury issues to start the season, got a good look, didn't impress. I wish him luck and success back in the SEL.

The problem with Avs is lack of finish. Not lack of Finnish.

Nemo was one of my favourite Avs when he played here. That smile used to piss off the opposing teams on a nightly basis. He just had one of those faces you wanted to punch hahaha

I have no idea what you mean by collecting A's, but he was on the WC winning Finnish team and is the nr1. Defender for Jokerit in FEL and has played really well.

He's just making a crack about their names.

Honestly I thought it was a mistake to boot Vaananen so soon. When paired with a stay-at-home guy and allowed to roam a bit, play more aggressively, the guy was AWESOME. He was a major part of that 2nd half surge that came up just short a few years back.

Yah I liked Ossi too. Still have a bunch of his cards.

Really hoping he would have worked out. Not the first guy i would have waived, but I'm sure he'd rather play in Sweden than be a scratch in the NHL. Best of luck to him.

When he signed with Sweden, does this mean he is now staying there and no longer a member of the Avs organization?

Damn, we sure could have used this guy when things got ugly last night.

Can't expect Porter to do all the goonery.
