Why the Leafs love trading with Boston

http://www.sportsnet.ca/fanfuel/2011...ruins_trading/

Hahah, Gotta say this is like hot chocolate on Christmas eve. Nice little article that I got a good chuckle out of. Enjoy!

Edit: Wasn't aware this was posted on the main board. Mods may close if need be. I just thought it was to hilarious to not pass along.

Notice how its written by a fan and not an actual, I don't know, journalist? Notice the disclaimer at the bottom of the article?

Hahaha, it was quite ironic. Lots of details left out that's for sure. Might as well take the good and run with it.

In the second, the Leafs sent Tomas Kaberle to Boston in exchange for Joe Colborne and a first round pick that was later parlayed to Colorado for John-Michael Liles.
isnt this just wrong? I thought we used that first + another pick to move up in this years draft for biggs?

A backup goalie who breaks his sticks and yells at his teammates? I think we've got that covered.

We didn't trade Seguin, Knight or Hamilton. We traded three picks that Burke, and most analysts, projected to be mid-round. To say that Burke knowingly traded Kessel for those three is intellectual dishonesty.

in fairness tot he article, they were only talking about trades regarding Brian Burke, Not JFJ or Quinn or any other leaf GM for that matter. Burke has made two trades with the Bruins and one was an even trade and the other we stole some players. If the article didnt talk about Calgary giving us Gilmore then it would have been more directed at the trades Burke has made and thats all.

I disagree, it follows the rule of inference

A=B
B=C
A=C

Its logically sound

Wow. This is why bloggers are useless. Doesn't know what Kaberle was traded for. Doesn't know what Liles was traded for and discounts the stanley cup. This is a borderline hockey fan trying to show how smart he is. Just brutal

Haha wow. I must say I'm impressed at all of your reactions to this garbage though.

I'd say it's a win win now. Personally I'm pumped to see the leafs in the playoffs this year

Were not all negative nancy's. We can see both sides.

Trades are suppose to work out to the benefit of both teams. Some trades are good, some are bad. As far as Kessel/Seguin are concerned both players are taking their team by stride and performing the way they should be. So Win/Win would be correct.

Except B was unknown at the time the trade was made. Yes, it turned out to be a set of specific players, but it wasn't those players who were traded away, but the picks. The picks also could have been a lot lower had our special teams not been so horrible for the past 3 seasons.

And this is the best way a trade can end IMO, both teams fairly content with what they ended up with as a result. Something that can clearly not be said about the Phaneuf trade.
