1. I'm drunk on beer. Nothing new here.
2. Has anyone tried rat-drink? Its the normal to cheapest beer mixed with the cheapest red wine you can get your hands on. Its ****ing horrible, but it has its glory like every horrible drink has. I guess its just finnish underground thing tho.
I think it's beyond their control now - look at all the new breweries in Minnesota the last 10 years old or so: Surly, Flat Earth, Fulton, Harriet, Steel Toe, Lift Bridge, Brau Brothers.... People can have amazing beer brewed locally all over the place now: Nebraska, Fargo, Rollingstone, the list goes on and on. We saw America reject Folgers and Maxwell House, and embrace Starbucks and Caribou. The Red Delicious is dying, and the Honeycrisp is taking over. It will take longer with beer , but the trend for quality tasty product over mass-produced schleck is underway, and InBev knows it, and they're scared.
Any time a beer company brags about the container their beer is served in (vortex bottles, it turns blue when it's cold), they are desperate.
Oh, and man up for that triple hopped Miller Lite!

I was drunk on beer and kossu yesterday, too. Had 1,5l bottle which contained about 0,8l of Mountain Dew, 0,33l (small coca-cola glass bottle) of Koskenkorva Vodka (40%) and 0.33l of Mojito. It was... interesting. Poured a big can of Battery energy drink to the rest of the Koskenkorva and made myself a 0,5l Virtanen (energy drink & vodka) out of it. Had six beers during the drinking game, too.
Has anyone played Indian Poker drinking game? Basically, your basic Indian Poker (you draw a card and put it on your forehead so others can see it) but with drinking game elements. We had five sip minimum, so basically all drew a card, they can then raise with sips and others have to either answer, call vesiputous (waterfall, you drink until the one on your right has stopped) or call quits and drink half the current amount. We had couple of waterfalls, and mostly 20-30 sips (20 is a full beer in our rules) as the wager. Each round. It's the fastest way to get drunk this side of the Russian border.
My roommate made his own beer a couple years ago...turned out to be pretty good...there's a brewing store here in St. Paul that's a great place to look at...I think it's over on Grand.
There is one of those Mr. Beer kits in my house with the yeast and all the stuff that goes with it, but I have never used it. I want to try it out, but I would probably forget about it and end up with something that was aged well beyond the recommendations.
Does anyone remember when Budweiser used to do that day fresh promotion? I don't remember when they did it, but I tried some Bud Light and it made a tasteable difference. The beer had more bite to it. (I don't really know how to put what I mean into words, but it had more of it).
I've homebrewed a couple of times. It's a lot of fun and I recommend it to anyone who loves beer. I made a Surly Furious clone and a Bell's Two Hearted clone, and they both turned out amazing. This is the site to go to if you wanna get into homebrewing http://www.northernbrewer.com/
If you're ever in the area you need to check out Blue Max Liquors in Apple Valley. On County Rd 42, just west of County Road 11. Very non-descript from the outside, being in the parking lot of your basic suburbia strip mall. BUT, they carry an absurd number of beers (most available as mix and match singles), whiskies....
Forgot to mention but I had Darkness the other night. Went to Luce and they had it on tap. Extremely good. Worth the hype IMO. A lot like Bender but double the flavor. Very sweet and rich.
