That's one perk of living in Winona - New Glarus available at liquor store just across the river; oh, and buying it on Sunday

I've only had Alaskan's IPA, and I like it quite a bit. Never on draught though.

Fat Tire Guinness and Nordeast are my favorites that I can get on tap usually. Someone mentioned Moose Drool earlier and I love that too. I like the Summit Winter Ale but for me the best time of the year is the fall when I can get some Sam Octoberfest or New Belgium Hoptoberfest. DogfishHeads 90 minute IPA is also up there for me for sipping beers. As a college student though I find myself way too often taking advantage of our liquor store's deal of three 30 racks of Keystone for $30. Tastes like **** but is great for beer pong and parties.

I LOVE Nordeast! Just love it. My local hole sells it on tap for $1.25 a pint during happy hour. Its almost cheaper to drink it there than it is to take it in a twelve pack.

I have a bottle of chocolate & oatmeal stout chilling in my fridge... I'm hesitant to drink it because last time I had one, I contracted the flu. I know the beer and virus weren't related... but my brain's still making the correlation.

Last one I had was so-so. Didn't taste like chocolate or oatmeal.

Oscar... I demand a refund!

Second this statement.

One of my buddies came back from Montana and gave me a gift bag of different MT IPAs (and a PBR). Looking forward to that.

I am kind of a boring beer drinker. Beer of choice would be Mich Golden Light. But I do also like Leinie's Honey Weiss and Blue Moon.

Yep, got myself a few growlers of Town Hall's IPA. Can't wait to crack them open (probably next weekend).

We also headed over to Republic which is right across the street from Town Hall there on 7 Corners. Nice place and a pretty good selection of micro brews.

anyone had Trader Joes ale? got a bomber as part of my beer basket from my sister. Don't know what to expect. It's a belgian style according to the label.

That's it, I'm moving over there.

Here you're lucky to find two or three brands of beer in a bar, usually it's just standard bulk lager pint.

Then again, I'd have to wait over a year before I could actually drink anything in U.S, at least legally anyway. I find it bizarre that 16 year-olds are allowed to drive but you can't get drunk until five years after.

Their XMas stuff? I've had it, probably have one around here in one of these fridges somewhere... It's alright. Nothing to get too excited about but I'll drink it.

So I went to Burger Mo's last night. Decent place with a fairly deep and solid beer list on tap. Played it safe and had myself Surly Furious.

Anyway, I don't consider myself tooooo much of a beer snob. However. There was this guy at the table next to me who was drinking Budweiser out of a bottle. With all the strong choices there it was a little puzzling. I mean, at least get it on tap or something.

It most definitely is.

The tastiest brew I've had in a while was Rush River Batch 1000, a Rye PA celebrating their 1000th batch of beer brewed. I marveled at the hops

I went to the Eagle Street Grille for the first time last Tuesday for the Wild/Sharks game. For context, I'm barely 21 and have been to very few bars; I'm not a huge drinker.

It was busy, but the bartender noticed me pretty quickly. I panicked and quickly ordered Budweiser (on tap). I immediately regretted not ordering something more interesting.

Typical rookie mistake.

I think you should have to do some pushups or something.

Hey I remember the first several months after turning 21, I'd have to get a beer nearly anywhere that had beer. I drank my share of Budweiser and Miller Light.

What you do is check out what they have on tap. Skip anything that says "light". If they have a seasonal, that's usually what I go for. Otherwise whatever I'm in the mood for...pale ale, wheat, brown ale, etc.

Usually a Sam Adams seasonal won't be too strong if you're not a beer snob yet. Blue Moon is great for a sweeter wheat beer, especially in the summer. Summit EPA if you're having a spicy meal.

Thanks for the advice. I've been meaning to try Summit Celebration/Winter Ale because of the responses I've seen throughout this thread. I've been looking for it on tap at restaurants - just in case I don't like it.

Just picked up a six-pack of Leinenkugels Honey Weiss. I really like the citrus flavor it has - especially when I add lemon.
