7441 still available.. 6 days to go

at minimum 14559.. all cheap seats basically gone, so not likely to sell much more

So there is actually a good chance that this will be the largest crowd in Bulldogs history.

it could already be, as soon as i can track down the total number of tickets sold.. onnly 2 sections were blocked off.. endzone and one top section in the south stands..

in hindsight i shoulda waited to buy tickets. im expecting lowered prices this week.

lowered prices a few days before the event would be suicide to the event organizers.

Imagined how POed you'd be if the seats you bought suddenly were discounted significantly for anyone else who wanted to buy them in the same area...

Unless you have a consortium purchase bulk tickets and then offer them at a discount - the Hamilton-Halton Construction Association is doing just that, per messages this morning.

IMO the pricing is not too bad, given the names showing up for the Friday night Almuni (Leafs-Habs) game (including Johnny Bower 'coach' alongside Daryl Sittler as 'coach' with CuJo, Wendell Clark, Dougie Gilmour and others taking on Guy Lafleur-coached Habs Stephane Richer, Patrice Brisebois and Guy Carbonneau) and the as-yet-to-be-named concert acts.

Just got email from AHL.

Canadian viewers can watch game live on Sportsnet.

US viewers can watch game a day later on the NHL Network.

So it will most likely pass the record for attendance for the Bulldogs in Hamilton (which is capacity in Copps at 17,000 and change) and has a chance at beating the overall record which is 19,000 and change for a game last year in Montreal.

Well I'm impressed, and I've noticed the naysayers have gotten awfully quiet...though for some reason I doubt they will come back in here and say "I'm wrong, the NHL will work in Hamilton!"...

What did I tell ya it is a combonation of curiosity & the fact that this is the closest the leafs are going to get to a winter\heritage classic outdoor game unless Hamilton gets an NHL. team not to mention you are getting a lot for your money with the alumni game , free skating along with the bulldogs \ marlies game .

I don't mean to put down any elation or anything, but looking at their website, Buffalo is ahead of every Canadian city, Boston, New York City, and Philadelphia.

I'm not sure what kind of methodology they used, but I'm not sure it is entirely accurate.

Yeah, that list is a joke and a half. There are so many of these rankings. If you want, I can show you several economic / business / lifestyle rankings where a hell of a lot more than 80 cities are ranked ahead of Hamilton.

I'm not saying Hamilton cannot or should not have an NHL team. But to compare the town to Toronto or Montreal or Vancouver in almost any sense is unreasonable.

Columnist: Hamilton is making it's mark in hockey with this game. (And the subtext: we want a NHL team)

I don't think it's subtext when it's common knowledge that Hamilton wants an NHL team...

Whatever 'text' you want to get out of this (sub or otherwise), just remember it's a column by Perry Lefko quoting Bob Bratina, an unreliable sports writer quoting a somewhat delusional mayor.

The only reliable thing you should take out of this is that Hamilton is hosting an outdoor AHL game tomorrow at Ivor Wynne...

Final score: 6-5 Leafs against the Habs at the Alumni game. Everyone had a great time, really fun game. Here's a video of "Sweet Caroline" being sung as the snow started to fall.

Well it's a perfect day for it today. You couldn't ask for it any better. I'm going to try to catch it on TV, but with my hectic family life, there is no guarentee I'm going to be able to...
