They looked so good just last week. What the hell happened? I hope DeBoer has some answers.

Marty could have been better, but the defensive giveaways were the early killer though.

That being said, he's not very consistent like yesteryear. He'll have a game where he stands on his head, and then more than a few that leave you with a bad taste. It's been like that all season and stemming from last year as well...... or at least that is my humble opinion.

I guess that's what happens when you get 'old'

DeBoer has a solid system (obviously there are some holes even when perfectly executed), the problem is we don`t have the personnel...YET.

You would think the coach of our hockey team would know how long a full match is...

It probably has nothing to do with having a ****ing forward up top on every single one of our PP's. Especially a forward who doesn't have a lick of defense in his body when the opposition counter attacks.

Shut you moron! You only got 100 something posts!

Haha just playing. My thoughts exactly though. You don't have to have 2000 posts on HF Boards to see it. You don't have to have watched Hockey for 50 years to see this. What is the excuse? Deboer is highly to blame for the shorthanders. The whole coaching. You too old man Larry what the hell have you done? Same with monkey man Adam Oates. These 2 guys were there with Maclean too. What is the excuse? Did this frickin team take a plane ride to the Great Wall of China, and just get off the plane after losing a whole day in time?

Honestly, even though I like Kovy a lot, I dont want to have anything to do with any emerging Russian superstar, except Datsyuk. Kovy, Ovi and Semin are just laughable. But they are having a good laugh with their money they are getting.

We don't have the horses to get the best out of his system because of players I won't mention, and no, the usual suspects aren't the only targets. Tallinder has been freaking brutal so far, Greene gives us his best jekyll and hyde impression, Larsson will be good but he's still a 19 year old rookie and Fayne, IMO, has been one of our best and most consistent d-men so far this season IMO.

When Lou will wake up and realise this isn't 1990 anymore, we should be adding speed and more offensive flair to our blueline. I know Brian Burke is disliked by the majority of this board, and rightfully so at times, but he said something that was spot on today. He said "The game has changed and if you're the last one to figure it out, you're probably watching instead of playing come june".

We've managed to make the playoffs several times, post lockout, because we were playing a air tight system. Once the playoffs got underway, we got exposed game-in/game-out for the remainder of the series and got knocked every single year in the 1st round... and pretty easily IIRC.

This team is just built really poorly and if Lou thinks that adding more talent up front will fix our scoring issues, he's mistaken IMO.
Understood, but if you don't have it, you stop doing it. Sutter got that lesson his first year (or was told to do it). It's not working, if not for their epic PK and shootout situation with strong goalies and 2 all-world guys up front, they'd probably have a Columbus like record. So, they haven't been punished for it yet.

This means you have an opportunity to correct it before it really kills you. 2 over in their spot isn't that bad, so let's get cracking at fixing some of this stuff.

There are 82 games in a season. You're gonna have great ones and you're gonna have terrible ones like tonight.

It's not the end of the season. Good lord.

Dammit I missed his presser? It was probably like watching a press conference from President Odumbo. I'm sure I missed nothing.

The Islanders outplayed us Saturday. This team didn't even outplay us. I didn't see any effort except that 2nd period. The giveaways, the shorthanded goals, Parise, and Kovalchuk on the same line.

I thought they gave probably 45 good minutes in the home game. Basically whenever they weren't giving Grabner the puck.

Can't say that I agree much with what he said there. TG was right, this is a pattern that started even before the Florida game. I'm looking more at the Boston game where, granted, that's one hell of a team, we took periods of time off.

And that was the first game where I saw major defensive breakdowns. I don't know if that the frequent road trips are a cause of blame - meaning little practice time, but I just know that it needs to be corrected.

they shut them out in the first game and in the saturday game i thought they played well but the giveaways (again) turned the game

i dont think its an understatement to say that they played generally well in the NYI games.
