You can't just write off depth as meaningless. Our top heavy teams have only gotten us so far the last few years.
nashvilles depth gets them nowhere without Weber/Suter/Rinne bro!

There's no need to be a condescending dick about things. I'm not even sure what point you're trying to make anymore and I'm pretty sure you're completely missing my point so I'm not even going to bother arguing about it.

Interesting take on things by Bowman. It does raise the question though. What is Boudreau going to do about our defense?

Turn Fowler and Sbisa into Green and Carlson?

-reading Stephens twitter, you see slight changes how team is run, apparently ducks would have a PK meeting every day, not today. A small change but perhaps it will help to stop pushing things on the players, and just let them play.

Of course if we get smoked tonight everyones going to flame BB

Well concerning the pk meeting, I think it has more to do with not having the coaching staff prepare anything for the players rather than canceling a much needed meeting. We just hired them yesterday so I doubt they have done any scouting work for the boys.

She's 15 and almost guaranteed to have to uproot her entire life and move to some other state or country in the near future, she's likely getting crap at school about her father being a public failure, you know, little things like that the average teenaged girl wouldn't care about.

Randy took the high road here. I'm happy he's not too torn over, at least that's the vibe I'm getting. Definitely feel for his daughter, especially seeing her dad get fired after he did such an amazing job in Anaheim. I hope Randy can recuperate and get behind the bench as soon as he's ready to. Best of luck, RC.

Interesting piece about the Ducks' recent moves by Minnesota Wild beat writer Michael Russo. On Carlyle:

You can tolerate a surly, sarcastic, gruff Carlyle when you're winning. But the Ducks were long past being willing to handle the stubbornly old-school Carlyle.

There is no denying the former Norris Trophy winner is a tremendous coach. It was Carlyle who guided Anaheim to a 2007 Stanley Cup. But the losing wasn't going to end. Talk to most players who have played for Carlyle, and they can't stand him. The Ducks finally quit on him.

As former NHL defenseman Aaron Ward, who played with Anaheim at the end of his career, said on TSN, "The man absolutely sucked the life and the fun out of the game."
I think Murray's tenure as a Ducks GM has been very mediocre. It's hard to find any underlying long term plan or vision for Ducks' future in his moves. But at this moment firing Carlyle really was the only sane move from his part. It was beyond obvious that the team had quit on him and he couldn't control them anymore. Which is perfectly understandable, as Ryan, Getzlaf and Perry have played under him their whole NHL careers and his old school antics must have gotten really old. Even in their interviews after the firing it seemed like some of them had a hard time suppressing their relief and joy.

Even the relentlessly fanboyish Mark Whicker was only noncommittal about liking Carlyle. You get the impression that members of the press had a bit of an axe to grind with him.

I always got the impression that the local Register and Times staff couldn't stand the guy, for example.

“I knew exactly what Philly was going to do,” he said. ”I knew the guys that were going to dive and they did. They got away with it. The only one that didn’t get away with it was [Wayne] Simmonds. It looked like he got shot. And he went down until he start peeking and no one was calling it and then he had to get back up.

“[Scott] Hartnell looked like he’d gotten shot by a bazooka. He didn’t miss a shift and then he comes in and scores the tying goal.”

32pts in 37 playoff games says otherwise. He was hurt last Playoffs every other series he's been a stud.

Enjoy BB guys. He's a character
