I remember N. Kronwall was "too small" but I had a feeling he would pan out...in his case aside from talent growing helped...anyways...who's your favorite player labeled "too small" that you think will be a stud regardless?
this year it's Nic Petan of the Winterhawks. he's easily a 2nd round talent, but I predict a drop based on his size alone. Had a discussion with Craig Button via twitter the other day about him. Craig doesn't think size will be an issue and he'll go high, but I've seen this story one too many times. Brandon Kozun is another great example.
Jared Spurgeon, very small(generously listed at 5' 9"), but uses good positioning and stick work to do well against bigger forwards.
I know him personally and he is the same height at me (5'8'') and 160lbs at most. I find the fact that he plays defence more impressive than most of the small forwards in the game. He has outstanding hockey IQ and amazing passing ability. Very down to earth kid too.
I don't think he'll ever be an NHL player, hell I don't think he'll be drafted but I gotta pump the tires of Brett Gustavsen. Kid is 5'7 but plays like a bulldog. Maybe my favourite 67 ever.
Cammalleri, if he counts. Listed 5'9 but he looks shorter than that. He's got a wicked shot, works his butt off, and seems to have a great attitude.
Homer pick is obviously Spurgeon, since he's 5'8 and played top pairing minutes on defense. He's actually pretty good aside from the fact that large forwards can literally just move him across the ice.
Older guys but Gilmour and Domi are my 2 favourites. Gilmour was just all heart and Domi took on anyone and everyone while being a foot shorter in a lot of cases
