You mean to tell me there are at least 12 people who want to re-sign Hecht long-term? yikes.

Multi-year can mean as few as 2 years, I'd sign him to a 2 year deal, no longer.

Hecht...2 years. Hoping the C issue is resolved and he can get to where he truly belongs, eating up 3LW.

Let Goose go and get overpaid.

Sign Jim Slater.

Hecht, he's scoring goals. Gaustad isn't.

I wish there was "neither" as a choice...Hecht should be sent packing for taking a year and a half off or so....So he's playing well for a new contract.....He's getting older I say let him go, and fill his spot with one of our prospects (Kassian?) or maybe sign a FA...

Gaustad while great on face offs has been a no-show for his entire NHL playoff career....38 gp 0 goals and only 8 assists....I want guys who take it to another level come playoff time...

Again fill his spot with a prospect or sign a FA.

Let them both walk and bring in Stoll and Nielsen.

+1

I don't get the love affair with Hecht at all.

If I was Darcy Regier I would give Jochen Hecht a Two-Year Contract.

Hecht brings and has experience and seems to still be productive offensively and defensively and would be a nice asset to keep in the Bottom Six for an extended period of time. Hecht is also versatile(gives the Sabres options) if there is an injury and would use him to help Luke Adam on his defensive game.

However, if I was Regier I don't know what to do with Gaustad. In my perspective, he needs to pick up his game if he wants himself a new Contract. I just have not seen enough from him do even consider keeping him around another Season. Sure, the Face-offs are a nice asset but I would like to see more production offensively and use his big body to punish the Opposition.
