Mitchell and Richards info please...

I woke up this morning and read that these 2 are out with injuries. Couldnt get much from reading Rich's Blog.....except lower body for WM and Upper for MR. Were they injured during a play? I assume Groin for WM? Was MR hit? Should we think the dreaded concussion?

Nothing has been released yet. Hammond should know later today.

Richards got hurt on this play: http://vimeo.com/33013437

Mitchell got hurt on his first shift. I don't think there was any contact, seems like more of a tweak than anything.

Hope it's not a concussion, especially since he's already had one when he played for Kitchener.

He also had one in his early days withthe FLyers. It might have been them weighing on the side of caution. He appeared okay in the penalty box and I think it's standard when a player gets hit like that to do the 'quiet time' of 15 minutes. Hopefully they decided to sit him out just to be on the safe side.
Losing him beyond a short length of time would be a disaster

But I was glad to see most of the team rally in the third ,feeding off their downed leader. THey seem to want to go to war for him- and that's a great sign and a show of how much of a leader he's become.

Yeah, that's probably it. I think they did the same thing with Doughty earlier in the season. That's what the Penguins should have done with Crosby after last year's Steckel hit, but they decided to chance it and then the Hedman hit ended his season.

I think Richards will probably be out 3-5 games just so that we don't lose him for the season or longer.

I thought Richards ran into him more than anything. I'm surprised he went after him afterwards.

Really hope it's not a concussion. It's a good thing that he wears a mouthguard.

And mostly remembers to put it in his mouth instead of sticking it on his glove!

I'm not surprised they went after him, but I thought it was clean. Bergenheim wasn't going head hunting. It was just an unfortunate set of circumstances. Richards' head seemed to dip just before contact.

I'm surprised Richards went after him, then the team followed. I think he'll realize it after looking at the tape because it was just a hockey play.

If it's a concussion they need to take time with him. Better to miss games now than to rush back and get into a Crosby situation.

Richards - Upper body, ingrown hair from last month's mustache.

Mitchell - Lower body, only played 1 shift. Apparently this was from a locker room mishap. Overheard trainers mention what sounded like 'Fusilli Kopi'

In that Penner comes back soon & Richardson & Lewis have been waiting in the wings, we'll likely need just the defender.

Hickey as the healthy scratch?!

On these type of things, he's always right. Just ignore his trade rumors.

Well, Penner will be re-activated. Richards and/or Mitchell to IR.

If both go on IR, then maybe Muzzin gets the call.

I think the head to head contact is what pissed Richards and the rest of the team off.

Barry is a self deprecating kings fan. He probably wants Richards to be out so he can drown his sorrows in alchy and his blog rants.

I wouldn't take him too seriously on this one. Richards is out MAYBE a week if anything.
