For some reason when ever I see his name now I just think "Big Chuck." Hope he does well tonight.

Per Darcy on the radio right now, Leopold talked Regier into bringing Finley into camp. Told Regier he was a good kid, good size, and moved the puck well and should be in camp. Talent scout Jordan Leopold!

Also, wanted to bring him up last week but he didn't have a contract yet. Good stuff.

So Vanek talks Leo into coming, Leo helps sell Regehr on coming and gets Finley the invite. Heh.

Stupid question, but how did Leopold know Finley?

Lindy's thoughts on Finley

Quote:
Ruff acknowledged that Finley got the call because T.J. Brennan is out in Rochester with an upper-body injury but the coach was intrigued by Finley in training camp, especially with his skating ability, and remains intrigued now.

"We've got another man 6-foot-8 who can skate almost as well as Tyler Myers can," Ruff said. " He's defended really well down there. You look at that and if he can continue to progress and stay hungry, you don't find those type of players. You don't find them in the draft anymore and it takes a long time to develop them."

Aren't they both from Minnesota too? Big age difference though.

Leopold must have figured "Brennan is out, so now is a perfect time to get injured so Finley will get the callup!"

He, Leo, and Andrew Alberts all work with Jack Blatherwick in the summer.
