Mike brown underwent disc surgery in his back yesterday and will miss the next 6 weeks."

I don't think they ever come out and said what it was, but I heard that it was the groin from somewhere, can't remember.

I was asking though, they never put a date on how long it will take all this time, but today they did?

anyways, it's always better knowing when he'll be back.

Edit: Aah, nevermind.

He had surgery yesterday and hence why they know how long he'll be out.

Hope he gets well soon.

Injury Update

Watching Wilson presser. Wilson said Armstrong back in a week and surprisingly-given some said he was done for the year-Lombardi back in 10-14 days. Brown out six weeks after back surgery. Komi out 4-6 weeks now after surgery, expects him to start skating "right away".

I must admit, I think we've looked better since Lombardi has been out. Understand he needs to get his game back, but he was a big non factor all around before he got hurt, almost a liability.

I'd feel terrible about this if Crabb hadn't been doing such an outstanding job filling in. I think Crabb makes for a great 4th line addition in Brown's place... especially with Armstrong taking his spot on the third line again

Cant really judge army on 5 games this year. He will come back and everyone will see why he makes 3 mill a year

Lombardi back in 10-14 days? Just this past Tuesday the guy was serving food at the Leafs dinner event with his left hand in a sling.

Poor Brown. Our 4th line soldier out for 6 weeks does not make me happy. Hope he has a quick and easy recovery.

Pretty much. Not as physical as Brown but still goes to the dirty areas, and can put some points on the board. Too bad about brown, I really miss his energy.

Long forward to our 4th line being Brown - Steckle - Crabb.

Army back in the line up should be solid, only a week to go, and Reim is back on the job again soon.

I like Crabb, so far, a lot more than Brown.

7-6-1 in our nightmare month of November with tons of injuries, not too bad. Now we're getting some manpower back so we should stay in the playoff race barring a Kessel injury.

Crabby is a pretty good replacement for Brown IMO.

Lupul - Bozak - Kessel
MacArthur - Conolly - Frattin/Colborne
Kulemin - Grabo - Armstrong
Rosehill/Dupuis - Steckel - Crabb

My assumption is one of Fratts/Colborne is sent down.

Sucks for Brown, sounds like a reasonably bad injury. Will be nice to get Army back though!

I'd like to see us try:

Lupul - Bozak - Kessel
MacArthur - Connolly - Kulemin
Colborne - Grabovski - Armstrong
Crabb - Steckel - Frattin/Rosie
Lombardi

Frattin in for games when we don't need a fighter, Rosie in for games when we do need a fighter. Not sure what to do with Lombardi, he doesn't really fit in the lineup IMO. I'm starting to think we lost that trade with Nashville actually, 2 years of Lombardi at $3.5 mil per year is pretty ******, not convinced that getting a bottom pairing dman in Franson makes up for it, especially since we almost never play him.

I had the exact same surgery as Brown (I'm assuming an open discectomey) and I was literally pain free like 2 days after the procedure. Herniated discs suck and it has to be pretty bad for him to have to get surgery on it.
