Feds is a good player, but he's not part of our future. We all know that next year he'll be replaced by Kreider. For now this year, we can replace him with either Rupp or Wolski (or even Zuccarello), who are both close to returning. True, I like Feds more than either of those guys, but again, Feds just isn't part of the long term future.

I don't think he'll make a difference in winning the Cup or not, at least in part because I don't see us winning the Cup either way this season. But the additional first round pick in a strong draft could be very important in the long run.

Thoughts?
Torts loves Feds so he's not going anywhere. I am fine with him as a defensively responsible bottom 6 Dmen.......next yr I agree let him walk as a UFA, Hagelin can do the job and take the number ,lol

Rangers aren't trading Stepan. And they'd be borderline retarded if they did.

If Carl keeps his play up, Feds could be traded. Probably a trade deadline deal

Call me crazy but I actually liked Gomez when he was here. The only thing that makes people shy away from him is his contract. Let's imagine Gomez was willing (hypothetical situation here people) to come to new york for almost nothing. What do you think about have a line combo like this:

Anisimov-Stepan-Gaborik
Dubinsky-Richards-Callahan
Hagelin-Gomez-Avery
Fedotenko-Boyle-Prust

Staal-Girardi
Mcdonagh-Del Zotto
Erixon-Eminger

Seeing that Gomez still has two years left after this season at a cap hit of almost $7.4 million, hell freaking no. Avery is gone after this season as well.

Rangers need to add another top 6 LW'er at the deadline and move Dubinsky to the 3rd line center spot.

The most pressing need is D right now. Would love to get Gleason and Ruutu from the Canes (And get rid of Wolski), highly doubt it though. When everyone is healthy run lines"

Anisimov - Stepan - Gaborik
Ruutu - Richards - Callahan
Feds - Dubinsky - Hagelin
Rupp - Boyle - Prust

Staal - Girardi
McD - Gleason
MDZ - Sauer
Eminger

Absolutely not. He can take his whopping 4 assists and rot in Montreal.

I like Feds but am ok with the developmental move.
However, don't see that kind of payment unless desperation is in the picture. More like move a 3rd or maybe a 4th into 2nd.
Don't see in deep draft team giving up 2nd to 1st, unless more valuable pieces involved.

Is this the same handball that is played at the summer Olympics? Resembles hockey/soccer?

If so, that's a cool sport. I got pretty into it during the Beijing games.

Id do that trade in a nanosecond.

Fedotenko is slumping hard right now. Isn't getting any younger. Is only signed for this season.

Hagelin could fill his spot in the top six easily. And Wolski has a spot open for him.

This would be an example of maximizing trade value.

LAK would be on crack to do it though.

Torts would have a heart attack if Feds was traded. I don't have a hard on for Feds like a lot of people around here do. He's a defensively responsible player who fills his role and come playoff time we will want him around. But looking at it as objectively as possible I think if Glen speaks with Torts at all before he makes trades that Johnny Cakes would stab him to death if he actually considered trading Feds. That's one of his boys. And we know how Torts rolls.

So how much more that we'd actually be willing to add would we have to add to make the Kings that much more receptive?

Gomez is a shell of his former self as a player. My guess is that he just doesn't care. It is what it is, as he would say.

He's still under contract for 2 more years, so it would be impossible for him to come here for cheap unless montreal buys him out. That won't happen unless there are compliance buyouts in the next CBA.

I wouldn't want Gomez on this team at league minimum.
