Ed Jovanovski...

It may be early, but the Ed Jovanovski situation isn't just looking bad, it's looking terrible. He can barely keep up with some of the slowest players in the league and is beginning too look like he has the defensive talent of a Dustin Buff like defenseman. He's got 4 years left in Florida which iis absolutely insane considering he's getting paid... Wait for it... 4+ miion each year!!! Do the Panthers have any other choice then too tough it out and buy him out in the summer? Tallon did some great things last offseason, but Jovo is kinda ruining all those nice things. What are some other options we have guys?

At this rate, he'll retire before the four years is up.

Nothing against Jovo, love the guy, but at this point, I'll be surprised if he makes it past year 2 of that contract.

I havent seen us have this bad defender since THE NAME YOU SHALL NOT SAY

I love the guy and I feel really bad because I wish he gets injured or he get's his ass together. He looks overweight has a double chin

Also I fear he's hurting Guds game on the ice. I wish Guds played with maybe Kulikov

Longtime lurker huge panther fan since the whale left me in hartford But what if we experimented with Jovocop on the 4th line. It has been done in the past and He seems to still have some offensive skills and can disrupt in front of the net.. Prolly never happen but its an idea.

I was very underwhelmed with his performance vs. the Kings... no way he plays 4 years here.

How do buy outs work in the NHL with regards to the salary cap? I remember hearing when we signed Jovo that even if he does retire, we still pay that 4 mil and it still counts against our cap...hope we have a solution here because that 4 mil could really hurt us in the future.

There is no way that Deneen is going to keep JovoSucks in the line up after a year, he is just playing awful, and Gubs does not need that kind of mentoring.

Welcome to the boards! The infusion of talent to the team has led to an infusion of talented posters.

Living and growing up a whaler fan Dineen as our coach made me so happy. The guy truly had more grit and leadership then anyone else i can remember on those old whaler teams.. We literally are playing his style of hockey and it works.. Its a joy to watch...

I haven't been a fan of signing Jovo since it was first announced. I know he is a great guy and has a history with the Panthers. But his performances are not worth what he is being paid and a 4 year contract is too long. Fortunately we aren't a team that spends to the cap because his contract would be restricting.

This doesn't make sense. We are restricted by too long and too much contracts one way or another. Either we have a self imposed cap and that 4 million could be better spent elsewhere or the actual cap. Either way it's looking like a bad, bad contract and with Campbell signed to 7 million a year, long term deal i really wonder if we will have the money to resign Kulikov, Versteeg and Garrison, especially with them playing so well and possibly pricing themselves way upward.

If you are talking about the game on the 11th I'll be there. AG how bad are Ranger fans to the visiting fans.

I'll take this one.

My favorite story, in 2008 game 3 against the Pens, I saw two fans get shoved by a few college kids, spit on and slapped by girls, smacked by a dude in his fifties.

Does it matter that they were taunting Madison Square Garden?

Not in our house ************!

I went last year in early December to a Rangers - Isles game..There was a couple Isles fans there that got heckled a bit when they stood up to cheer but it wasn't anything to serious. There was the constant POTVIN SUCKS as expected. Overall I had a great time it was my first game at The Garden something ill remember forever.
