I thought Bryzgalov deserved a star especially based on some key saves when it was still scoreless. He had good positioning throughout. A solid effort.

Briere did play well tonight, I made an early comment on his jump and decisions in the first period.

Great 4 pts in less than 24 hrs
You put Schenn with better players and he'll thrive, but he's gotta earn it. he had some nice moves tho. I'm a maniac when it comes to Bryz but we definately got 2 number 1's goin right now. not a problem tho. its a good thing.

Flyers certainly have a very bright future with the emergence of Mr. Matt Read.

Really. He was solid both games. I am really impressed with the way 23 year old Claude Giroux is growing up before our eyes. I watched a lot of his games in juniors and I am extremely impressed with the development of his slap shot. It was always decent. But with his added strength as he grows it is becoming very deadly. Brayden Schenn impressed me also tonight. He was going into the dirty areas and looked very comfortable in doing so. All in all the team as a whole played well. Four points. Well done.

Cheers!

Word on Meszaros is the shoulder injury is minor and "nothing serious." Last thing needed is another wounded d-man.

Agreed. All we need to hear now is that Meszaros has a "virus".

Besides playing on the obvious top line of Jagr/Giroux/Hartnell I'm not sure he'd be better off anywhere else. Talbot and Voracek are both damn good players and he is doing very well in these last two games. Not sure he needs to move onto any of the other lines. I am not a big fan of Read/Briere/Simmonds just yet but give them time I guess.

Where else is he going to play center unless Briere moves to wing. Strange that the Flyers trade away two all-star centers and still have 4 centers in Giroux, Briere, Schenn, Couturier, as well as Read and Talbot if necessary.

Bourdon and Marshall seem to be improving nicely.

just got back from the game... it was raining took me 2 hours to get there and i missed the first two goals... glad i got to see giroux and hartnell score. those hits on rinaldo and meszaro was bullshi t. i thought for sure rinaldo was going to be injured but man can that guy take a hit.i didnt see the meszaro hit that well because i was in nosebleeds and i had to stand up to see behind the net.
i did notice bourdon and more so marshall looked comfortable out there.

it was about 70% coyotes fans 30% flyers fans...

also... first 10,000 fans got a coyotes blanket courtesy of local casino... pretty bummed i missed out on that.

I can't agree with you about Schenn's line placement. At this stage, he's more of a playmaker and talbot and voracek are anything but finishers.

We know the 1st line isn't being touched and apparently cooter isn't leaving the 4th at all, so for the middle 2 lines:

Simmonds (JVR when healthy)-Schenn-Briere: Schenn gets a sniper/finisher and a speedy grinder to work with. Schenn's abilities should play well w/ danny, as Danny knows how to get open and find the soft spots in the D as well as anyone in the NHL.

Read-Talbot-Voracek: was working really well together before... Why mess w/ success? Restore this line and see if the magic comes back.
