Not sure how old I was, but it was in the old arena, I saw Johan Hedberg play in his final season with the Moose before getting noticed by some NHL club. The Moose were down 6-3 going into the third, and came back to win it 7-6 in OT. One of the best games I've ever seen. But anyways, at one point during the game Hedberg absolutely lost it! I think he still can at times too.

GO JETS GO! Chase that Moose outta town!

I just wanted to see if the battle of alberta is on out there as well as out here. This kind of shows me that Alberta teams get more air time nationally than the Jets, which pisses me off bigtime. I would like to see a little more 50/50 when it comes to the Alberta and Manitoba teams which is not the case at the moment. Complete bs

Maybe because Alberta is a bigger market than Manitoba?

For that we'd need games shown here to start at 9pm, since no team competes with Toronto nationally. We're not having 9pm Saturday start times here.

Like Postman said, Alberta is a bigger TV market.

Also, TSN has the Jets broadcast rights. And with a dedicated Jets channel, they and channel providers have been making a nice profit from it.

Ilya's shot is unmatched in this league imo. Like you said I don't think he's as good as he was in ATL (at least not yet) as they're in a more tight knit system than we were, but I still love watching him play.

I keep seeing NJ play him on the right side which I can never get my grasp on, that one timer of his is such a weapon and to play on the right side it's not nearly as easy to set up and thus he isn't looking as dangerous.

I still wish him well because he gave 8 years of his life here and gave it his all.

Must say, I'm a little disappointed that we won't see Brodeur since I think Moose is the superior goalie of the two right now, but (and correct me if I'm wrong now) didn't Johan seem to have a hard time playing two nights in a row when he played for the Thrashers? I think I remember something like that.

He is probably the reason why I have never been super impressed by Stamkos one timer from the left circle. Granted, he has a great shot from there, but it's not as hard as Kovy's and it's harder to set up. But enough pumping his tires... Damn floating russian!

Yeah he normally wasn't great coming off back to backs, that being said I still think he's one of the best legitimate backups in the league.

One of the nicest guys I've ever known too.

Yeah, I've heard that he's really nice. I'm still pissed that he wasn't picked for the swedish national team in the olympics. He's a great guy in the locker room, he's a great back up, he had a great year and he wasn't invited...

Yeah I don't get it either, he's been around the game forever and is still a strong competitor, plus he's a great locker room presence.

I always wish we had retained him, I firmly believe if we had Hedberg instead of Mason last year we would've made the playoffs. But that's just me.

Is it too early to start the "MAKE. THE. PLAY-OFFS." chants? I think not.

"COME ON JIMMY, it's Saturday night in the Peg and the NHL's in town!!"

30s left - still 2-1 MTL. Brutal slash on LA center, no call. Looks like MTL's going to win this one, which puts them at 27pts.

EDIT: Aaaand, MTL wins.

wow let me try and wrap my brain around this for a second..so if Ilya Kovalchuk signed with the Thrashers and they left for Winnipeg then....thinks hard...then....thinks really hard...then he would.....Nope, I don't get it.

Doug MacLean on Hockey Central just called Winnipeg's hockey fans great after pointing out the importance of this current homestand. Reaaaally hoping the Jets pull out a W for everyone in attendance tonight.
