Team is playing hungry and winning because of it. Always got to love that.

I thought Gali had another very good game, but how the hell did Varly not get one of the three stars with O'Reiiy and Lando? He was amazing in that game. Making big saves, and you could feel he was just in the zone. Really excited to see that from him.

ROR was a beast and it's amazing how much better he looks in person than on TV.

Thought Stastny's line was pretty great (hope 26 isn't out too long). Although I do question some of Duchene's passes.

Gali and Lando killing penalties was pretty effective (obviously). I thought Winnik and McClement had good games as well.

On a side note, Brauns which was bought out and turned into the Trailside road house or something like that is terrible. They took the lower part called the penalty box, which was very hockey oriented and re-named it the "Trunk". And removed pretty much everything hockey and replaced it with tin signs, hubcaps and old licence plates...plus the service was crappy. Very dissapointed.
Totally agree about the "trunk". They don't even have centerice! I ordered a beer and never got it, so I ordered it again and I got charged for two. The waitress went to charge it but didn't get it. And there were like, 4 people down there. It wasn't even busy. And the food was not good.
The only thing is, Brooklynn's is always PACKED and I think the trunk has better beer options. Ugh

Nice to see Gally break out the big shot. Haven't seen that in a loooooooong time, still wonder why he doesn't use it more often.

I guess he doesn't get a perfect pass between the circles from 15 feet out very often? Turns out McLeod and Porter aren't very good playmakers, blew my mind.

I thought this was Landeskog's best game. Where as in the rest of the games I saw a raw but talented player, tonight he really had alot of jump and was playing with a ton of confidence.

I wish I could comment but I was banished.

Anybody want to give me the best 5 moments of the game?

That was honestly a classic moment when you left for the second time G2P, and immediately after Gali scored

A big THANK YOU to G2P, you really helped us win the game by taking one for the team.

Pretty sure G2P should be suspended every game day

That short-handed goal from Gali was sick. 3 wins in a row and won 5 out of 8 at home... not too shabby since they started off poorly.

Hopefully Stastny's torso concussion is not too serious, we need him out there.

Should be fun to see how the team plays without him.

LoL is it a Concussion or just a Torso injury? Im thinking its just a Torso injury and he wont be out for long. Sucks for him though, played such a great game and has played alot better the last couple games, and then he gets injured .

He was an absolute beast on the forecheck last night. Gave no space to any of the Red Wings players, caused constant turnovers, and essentially created two of our goals from nothing.

Needless to say, I thought I was in the Landeskog thread.

I was wondering which guy you were talking about.

In all seriousness, both were absolute beasts on the forecheck. I don't see this tandem being broken up anytime soon, and really, why should it?

Re-watched the game. A few notes

1. Another excellent game by Varlamov. The game takes on a whole different complexion imo if Varly lets in that SH goal. His rebound control was stellar as it should be especially against a team like Detroit. Cant fault him on either goal. The first goal was world class play by Datsyuk and the second goal Cleary was standing in his grill while Hejda watched. We are all on the ROR wagon and righfully so but Varlamov has been our bes player the last 4-5 games.

2. ROR is on a hot streak similiar to when Duchene goes on his streak. I dont expect it to last much longer but its fun to watch nonetheless. His block/steal on Datsyuk set up his eventual ENG. ROR won this round against Mr. Datsyuk.

3. Fire Sacco

4. EJ had a strong outing...in the offensive zone. He had a few shaky moments in the defensive zone one of which was a terrible turnover in the neutral zone. Other than that I thought he looked poised and really confused the Detroit D a bit down low. Cant wait to see his reaction when he finally scores one.

5. Landeskog's best game since the Chicago game earlier this year. Two very nice set ups. Hes been much better since the addition of hejduk on that line.

6. Stefan Elliott had his worse game so far. His first few games he wasnt dumping the puck in on the PP now it seems like he is. Not liking that. I hope he doesnt get scratched.

7. Kyle Quincey. Geez where to begin. His play has been regressing alot lately. I thought with Johnson back that he would have a better game but he was terrible. Couldnt stay on his feet, couldnt keep the puck in, lost coverage of his man on numerous occasions. The one good thing he did was a block shot in the 3rd other then that he was the worse D-man.

8. Freakin Ryan O'byrne can hit the net from there but cant when hes 20 ft away?

9. Matt Duchene was dangerous all night. Atleast hes getting chances now so aslong as that keep sup he'll score soon enough. Nice to see that excitement on the Stastny goal.

10. Stastny showed up on the stat line and deservedly so. Hes played well lately without getting rewarded. He finally scores and the hockey gods think its funny to injure him. I hope its not severe because we do need Stastny.
