That is really impressive and also shows that he is not just leeching off good linemates but creates those plays himself.

Pretty decent raise. He earned ~$38000/year on his old contract, his new one is worth ~$380000/year!

What is the max salary in the AHL on an ELC?

St. Croix is just behind top prospects like Mark Stone, Ty Rattie, Sven Bartschi, and Emerson Etem.

Still think he is a little slow but this is promising.

newoilburnsclean, what is your take on TJ Foster? He was invited to our prospect development camp this past fall. He has put up decent numbers this year. Does he look like a kid with any type of pro potential, or is he just riding the coattails of better linemates? Thanks!

I have watched this game since 69/70 (5years old then) I was also laughed down when I said Msc would put up a ton of 4/5 point games this season. The myth on Hf is you have to be fast like Bure big Like Lemeuix dangles like Datsyuk to be a Star in the Nhl,

They could care less if a player is a offensive wizard if they don't razzle and dazzle they have no chance. A scout in one thread won't name him told me no way he would put up more points then Weal or Gallagher well he is ahead of both. When MSC plays in the NHL he wont give you the awe factor but you will notice him in the score sheet regularly, Like tonight another 4 pts 2nd star lol guy gets no respect from anyone scouts or hockey Canada but I will say this 3 years from now the talk will be how did this guy last till 4th round.
Well when your right your right. It's OK to pump your tires a little in that case my man. Unlike yourself, I will NEVER proclaim my talent appraisal skills. It's a sacred art in hockey that a very few folks possess. That's why we value eyes on reports so much around here.

A somewhat similar scenario to MSC's occurred when we drafted Derek Stepan in the 2nd round a few years ago. Some of the same basic criticisms: Too small, Too slow. Yet he's turned into a pretty solid player for us and could develop into a key piece moving forward.

One thing that drives me nuts for sure are the vitals on our prospects. I think they tend to be generous. What is your best guess on MSC's height and weight?

Thanks for the the post game reports

105k I think. That may increase in the next CBA, though not to 380k. NHL minimum is 525k and may go up as well.

I think the transfer agreement would allow him to go back to the SEL if he doesn't make the NHL team, but if he's close, I could see him playing in the AHL for a bit to get used to the smaller ice. But I don't see him coming over until 2013.

Aren't signing bonuses also commonly included in ELCs? Even if his annual salary is a huge dropoff from the SEL to the AHL, I would assume the signing bonus would soften the blow.

Want to know the easy way? Cheat. Just go to a post that has a table in it, quote it and copy the table. Once you've got the structure, it's easy to tweak it to fit your own needs. The 2 prospect threads have tables in the first post. I usually use one of those.

Yes, that's true. Though signing bonuses are part of the 925k maximum. ELCs can only exceed 925k through performance bonuses.

The signing bonus can't be more than 10% of the 925k, iirc. So the max signing bonus right now is $92,500. Again, that may increase in the next CBA.

One thing that scared me about MSC is that this may be just a hot streak. If the rest of the way, he can score at even half on his pace over the last 10 games, I will nger very happy.

Forward Evgeny Grachev was recalled this week after the injury to Sobotka, but he will be a healthy scratch tonight against his former team, the Rangers. Grachev played three games with the Peoria Rivermen without any points.

"One of the things intriguing to me about Grachev is he went down and played a different role down there ... probably the role he's going to end up playing in the NHL," Hitchcock said. "He got into the 5-on-5, PK, playing against the top lines roll down there and he was very successful. I think it gives us more of an indication that we might be able to get our hands on a good third-line player over time rather than a scoring forward."

There was so much hype with Grachev on these boards. Prospects are so difficult to predict at the NHL level.

For all we know, Fogarty could be the better NHL player than Kreider and Miller

I liked Grachev, I was subscribed to the Brampton Battalion YouTube channel and they uploaded every goal. The kid was scoring every night, total domination. I guess he should have stuck there for another season to see how he would do without Hodgson and Duchene.

Still hope he does well. I remember the Grachev vs Anisimov thread, let's just say I'm happy we still have Arty

Yogan 1-1-2 tonight.

Slowly but surely approaching a PPG after a slow start.

Stajcer's Owen Sound team won 6-4 tonight as well. Stajcer with 29 saves on 33 shots for the W.

If you take your last post in its entirety and explain how every point there is relevant to the two posts you made that preceded it, that would probably go a long way in clarifying your "argument" to me. You can start by explaining how any of it is true, because I'm having a difficult time seeing that myself.

By the way, if you're not a fan of ignoring points, why is it that you keep ignoring my point about the fact that you like to accuse people of things you can't actually prove that they said or did? You keep ignoring the fact that nothing you say means anything, because so much of what you say isn't true. I keep asking you to engage in a discussion with me where you don't, by and large, make a bunch of stuff up for the convenience of your argument, but you keep ignoring that, too. I thought I made it pretty clear in my last post, that my opinion is totally different from yours, and that this obviously wasn't going to change. I guess you didn't understand my point. Let me clarify it for you. I don't wish to engage in any kind of discussion with you because most of what you say, in my opinion, is untrue. I'm not sure why you are having such a difficult time understanding this, because I've explained it pretty clearly a number of times.
1st bold: I appreciate you trying to give an example but two entire posts is not one example. What i am looking for is maybe one point in those two posts. if you could explain to me what is unclear about it I can try to address it further. Your example here is, I'm sorry to say, just too broad and without you explaining to me where you are unclear it would be very difficult for me to know what you're thinking and address it without putting words in your mouth which i believe you hate.

Sir as I stated earlier you may not understand the points that a person like myself makes for whatever reason but that does not mean somebody is lying to you and in this case I did not lie in any spot. I was misleading in those two words which i later clarified and apologized for. You then seemed to have misconstured, misunderstood or gotten wrong several other things as well but I can not keep explaining the same things so i am sorry that I can not clarify for you further.

In reference to the bold I please request you keep your personal opinion of me out of your posts because this is flaming. if I do act in a lying or hypocritical way then please by all means you can call that ACTION hypocritical or dishonest and I will adress it to the best of my ability but I do not appreciate having my character and the veracity of my overall posting history called into question. i also don't appreciate you searching my post history to nitpick the few times I have been in arguements. Taking a small sample size of a few threads to represent an entire post history is not accurate at all. Everyone on this board has gotten into an arguement at some point it is unfortunately the nature of the boards. I cannot understand what highlighting past issues over completely different hockey points has anything to do with grachev. Not to mention opinions change over time. Something from a year ago or months ago may not be representative of the opinions expressed and discussed in the here and now.
Also I did say "If" you want to continue this discussion. By saying "If" I clearly acknowledged there was a chance you did not want to continue it. You don't have to give me a reason why you know longer wish to engage in discussion I do not take personal offense to your choice.
Your point is being ignored because it directly insults my character and that is prohibited by the board...in the past addressing such accusations has resulted in certain moderator actions that I try to avoid and so I am sorry that i am ignoring your accusations about my person but as you well know my hands are tied by the rules of this board. I have several times in the past and will again ask now that you please forward any issues you may or may not have with my overall integrity or character to my PRIVATE MESSAGES and they will be handled accordingly.

Any discussion about grachev and characteristics of leadership, maturity and actions showing contrary tothis being in as great of a quantity as certain other prospects are definitely open

If you have visual proof, that's nice. But let me caution that after having worked in hockey for many years, just being listed as the first assist does not mean it is the primary assist. And primary assist vs. assist is way overblown anyway.

Nevertheless his numbers are impressive. Feels almost Mark Savard like.
