You can fix/replace pieces in othger parts of the body, not so much with the head.

Did he refuse you an autograph or kill your dog? The guy is injured and working his butt off to come back. You're acting like he's faking an injury to collect a 6M paycheck while sitting on his couch drinking vodka.
I do disagree with not signing Gorges.

As for Markov...signing him to ONE year would have been smarter, imo. Is he working his butt off? Probably a YES but no one is 100% about this (here for the 5,75mil/year or to win a Cup?). Damaged goods? No one is sure about this either, but...it really seems like he is 1-2 hits away from retiring (knee/arm/shoulder/leg/ribs/eye/neck/lower back/etc, seems like damaged goods to me, hope I'm wrong for our Habs' sake).
Saw him only once in person in my lifetime (years ago) and yes he did have the same look as usual (very sour look on face like he had just eaten 5-6 lemons! of course a player's facial look doesn't matter...how he plays for the Habs and can stay healthy is what matters the most to me). So, no he didn't refuse an autograph since I never ask for autographs I just say a quick hi or shake hands or just leave players alone in general...didn't say hi to Markov that time since he didn't make any eye contact and this was years ago....and no one killed my dog (she died of natural causes and not because of Markov!).

No matter how great Markov is/was...all this talk about him is not helping our Habs...bottom line we need a top 3-4 dman to help NOW. Solution...next summer we get a top 3-4 UFA young veteran dman (non-injury prone) and maybe more AND move on. In the end I'll shut-up and come here to apologize if he comes back soon and helps our Habs stay 3-4-5-6(etc) games over 500 (and make the playoffs and compete hard in it). IMO, we're better than our 13-14 record.

I'm with management for:
Eller + Schultz for Halak (+ keeping Price of course)
Kaberle for Spacek...even though many are disagreeing...imo it's a risk I would have taken)
Picking up Cole last summer (UFA price tag but should be worth it in the end).
Drafting Beaulieu, L.Leblanc, Tinordi...
Picking up Wiz for a 2nd...
Bournival for O'Byrne.
and several other trades/acquisitions I'm forgetting, so...I can't bash management too much...for now! (although I wish there was some way they were able to persuade Guy Boucher to hang around! but hard to do!).

My reply:
I did really laugh when I read your post!! (laughed in a good way!).
I don't hate Markov-the-HEALTHY-cerebral-dman... I hate or absolutely despise WAITING for Markov season after season and yes I don't love him in playoffs since I have never seen anything from him in the REAL season). There's a difference between hating Markov-the-cerebral dman and hating the long agonizing wait. Yes I shouldn't make so many jokes about vodka, caviar,etc...since people will think I'm a racist/xenophobe, but I'm not! (I make fun of myself when it comes to vodka since I have some Eastern European in me, and I'm not a huge fan of fish eggs! maybe later in life?!). Cheers! (our Habs better start winning soon or else this will be a sad holiday!).

The next 5-10-15 years are way more important than this season, imo.

Hypothetical...if Crosby never comes back our Habs would still go after a top 3-4 UFA dman during next summer.

I'd trade Markov for a solid top 4 dman right now...tired of the waiting game (unfortunately Markov has a no-trade clause). I'll just hope he comes back in January and not February. I'll be so pissed if it's mid or end of February...we could be 9-10 games under 500 (too late for his 6mil help).

So what is the status of injured players?

Markov? Operated on December 5th...is he back on the ice yet?
Gomez? Has been out 4 weeks...not skating?
Gio? Been out since the 8th, not skating this week.
White? Has missed 10 weeks already...are we missing something here?

Sports hernia.

Gomez had a setback, was announced a few days ago, he's out indefinitely.

I don't expect Goat to let anything loose on Markov.

I'm one of the few here who actually trusts the management but I feel that there's something going on with Gomez that goes beyond "lower body injury"

I agree. It's like he's faded into oblivion too. Maybe he gets perma-LTIR

Would be a shame for him. Only got 13 games to redeem himself and couldn't even do that because of all this.

Ah, well.

Especially since he skated off under his own power and didnt seem to be in too much distress. I remember seeing him returning to the bench then whispering something to Martin.....too embarassed to continue playing possibly.

Haha what a farce ! If Gomez was healthy he would be playing.

I would rather have him there than Darche, even on the 4th line.

Sports hernias are usually 4-6 weeks. I have never heard of one taking that long.

I'm thinking White has some sort of off ice issues and the team is keeping it under wraps.

As for Markov, he was operated on 15 days ago, he should be back on ice by now. Athroscopic surgeries don't leave big scars or put athletes off from rehab/training for more thahn 7-10 days usually.

Yeah, I mean a sports hernia recovery time is 4-6 weeks and I'm assuming he had the surgery well before the season started. Ryan White isn't a huge difference maker but its the little things that can lead to wins. What the **** is going on here? Seriously.

It's smell a bit fishy, but some of these sports hernia can be hard to heel.

I am more concerns about Gomez... Maybe he is living a depression, or the management don't want to put him on ice before knowing what to do with him.

Its definitely fishy but no these sports hernia recoveries arent supposed to be 3 to 4 months recovery almost always they go smooth and the athlete is back in no time, they are very minor.

As for Gomez... well whats there to say. I have a conspiracy theory that he isnt really hurt and hes just sitting out and rotting the rest of his career. His value is at an alltime low and pretty much untradeable. But dont you atleast put him on the ice and pray to God he produces so we can atleast trade him for a late pick. Looks like he will be buried in the minors at the end of the season.

Gomez thing is fishy. I think the management's plan is to make us (fans) forget about his existence entirely so that he can be shipped down to the minors in the off-season without much hoopla.
