Hey Stubbs, maybe walk through the childrens hospital sometime, take a tour through the cancer ward, maybe take a short walk where the terminally ill are, and then rethink what a pile of rubbish you wrote.

*******.
Ya, clearly he exaggerated, but clearly you missed the damn point.

Cut the fingers of a millionaire pianist, see how he feels.

Did you ever throw out food you didn't finish? Ever let food go bad in your fridge? Ever turned on the water in the shower and took a minute or two before stepping in?? Ever took a bath?? Ever wasted money on stuff you didn't need?
Next time you do it, think about all the millions of people living in poverty and dying of hunger. Think about countries that have to shut down electricity a few hours on a daily basis because their system is pure garbage, or better yet, think about the cities or villages that have none. Think about the people killing each other for a piece of land.

Does this mean you can't have a bad day yourself? Does this mean you can't go through tough times that may last years??

For someone that lashes out as to pretend to be in touch with reality, you sure seem to be living far away from it.

Just because Markov is a millionaires doesn't mean he's happy with what is going on. Not because he's signed a new deal that things aren't really hard for him.
Sure, there was some exaggeration, but you don't have to react that way either.

Is this routine or is Markov's career in jeopardy at this point?

Actually, every time one of us goes to a game, buys some Habs merch, or even watches on tv or listens on the radio, we are paying a portion of his cheque. But more importantly, dead space on the cap impacts how much talent our favorite team can acquire.

IMO, Toronto, Buffalo and Washington are the middle of the pack in the east, we are behind.

this team Will probably not make the post season- as for injuries- Markovs been gone so much and so long now- i dont even think about him as being injured- its like he has just dissapeared and is living on a tropical island- Gomez- HAbs are better off becuse he is injured

as for the young players- not much production from them- Eller maybe gets 20 points?
too many teams are playing better and have improved from last season- and HAbs havnt- thats why it will be very hard for them to make the post season- never mind come in 7th or 8th

With Spacek back in the lineup, we were 7-4-1. We'd have been 8-4 as we were leading 2-0 against Buffalo when he got injured again and we lost that game in OT or SO, his absence became very clear. We've been ,500 since he left again. Both him and Campoli will bring a lot of stability to an otherwise extremely green D. Add Markov somewhere along the line, and i'm pretty sure we'll make the playoffs. PG will probably pull another useful trade to add some strenght to the D.

I just have a couple of things I want to understand about the Markov situation. I'm listening to the radio and hearing a bunch of things about the lack of transparency on the part of the habs about the Markov situation that caused speculation etc.

What I don't get is this. A week before the California trip, the habs explicitly said Markov would not play on that trip.

Then the media came out and speculated that he would play, Martin said this was unlikely.

Then Markov had a PRE-SCHEDULED appointment with the doctor in Anaheim. Speculation began again. Martin said in response to this speculation that we would find out the day after about Markov's knee when all the test results were back.

After this claim, more speculation and complaint about the lack of transparency began.

The next day after the appointment, Gauthier revealed that Markov needed more surgery.

My question is, what info did the media expect? They didn't know what would be wrong with Markov until he saw that Dr....how did the media expect information prior to this?

Wait...you still expect some common sense and rational behaviour about the team ?

2 days later and Gauthier already changed his story from missing 3 weeks to at least 4 to 6 weeks

God just stop talking about it. I get my hopes up and then they're crushed. Hopes up again, crushed some more. I'm scared for the headlines 4 weeks from now.

Do you know how to end speculation by the media?

Have the GM come out, hold a press conference and tell the truth about Markov.

Is Gauthier still worried that the other teams will know that this is an injury to Markov's knee?

Maybe Gauthier should have come out and said its a "lower body" injury to Markov.

Markov's career is in serious jeopardy.

Its tough to come back from one ACL injury. Its very difficult to come back from an ACL that has been re-injured. Its next to impossible to come back and play after having multiple complications and setbacks post surgery like Markov is having.

I am doubting that we will ever see Markov back on this team. I hope I am wrong.

Bottom line:

Much more important things in the world and individual lives than worrying about one man's knee.

It is an unfortunate event.

He will be back when he's back.

It's now been estimated at 4-6 weeks because they had the surgery today and saw the extent of the damage. Did anyone seriously believe it would only be three weeks? The club said at least three weeks, and after viewing the knee and cleaning it up, it's extimated that it will be a month or 6 weeks. No shock at all.

the club is being extra careful, and that's a good thing. it's quite common for there to be swelling and such after heavy physical exertion...the odds are that he'll be okay in a month's time and be ready to help the club down the stretch.

Everybody retires at some point Do you mean this season?

Even if he comes back as a lesser d-man, he can have a long nhl career as a PP specialist... gonchar is still kicking for example.

When did Campoli ever bring stability to a defense? When he was with the Islanders? The Senators? Chicago? If he had brought stability to any one of those teams he would likely still be with them. He is probably a nice enough guy but he is a fill-in defenseman.

Stop selling him short. He's a lot better than Weber, Diaz, Emelin and even Gill at this point (at least at even strength). It will make a big difference.
