What're the odds Gaustad was "injured" for the rest of the game to avoid any problems involving goalies getting run? Not sure how these things work, but just sayin...
'nother Ugly: Not the kind of night to gain any ground. Most of the teams ahead of the Sabs got points tonight, as well as a bunch of teams right the sword's tail.
Still, the Leafs lost. Plus you just never know who exactly will be where when the season ends. The Sabres made up points on nearly half the Eastern conference, so you have to be happy with that.

As Chain pointed out elsewhere - in a game that was still competitive, they wouldn't willingly risk taking their best FO man out of the game.

speaking of the leafs, it is pretty amazing that we haven't played them yet
I just can't imagine any modern day hockey crowd using the word "sissy".
Sure it wasn't another part of the female anatomy?
If sissy was the word, I just gotta shake my head at Nashville hockey fandom....
That's what Paul Hamilton claimed they were saying on Twitter.
I couldn't tell what they were saying and it looks like no one else could either.
Edit:
Quote:
Tootoo got banished to the dressing room with a charging major and game misconduct. Gaustad earned a double-minor for roughing and a 10-minute misconduct. Miller got only an earful from the fans in Bridgestone Arena, who repeatedly chanted, "Miller is a sissy."
I don't want to make a thread to say this, so I will say it here,
The Sabres should change the name of the FNC to the Wells Farg Center this Wednesday. The first 10,000 fans should be given orange and black pom-poms and they should bring Kate Smith out of retirement to sing God Bless America.

Not with the way they were getting eaten up at the dot. Hecht and Pominville had all sorts of issues. In a tight game, they'd want their top faceoff guy.

G-
Miller's return was good to see
Ehrhoff looked good, and coming back after that shot to the face was impressive
Kassian looked good most of the game
Finley looked fine for his 2nd game
McNabb continues to impress me
B-
What the hell was that tootoo????
I don't like Staffords and Roys lack of finish
U-
ANOTHER INJURY !!!!
The hockey gods are angry my friends
Good:
- Miller. That save, whoa!
- Leino, Adam and Kassian with a great first period, that pretty much allowed Miller to go and win this game
- Ehrhoff, Regehr and Sekera carried the D. Oh and Grags with a +3 (on the Ennis goal he literally stepped on the ice when Roy passed it to Ennis... unbelievable).
But seriously, Gragnani's possibly best defensive game of the season.
- Hecht is looking like the best forward right now on the top two lines.
- I really like Roman Josi, seems another future gem for the Preds on D
Bad:
- Stafford. Meh.
- Roy. Meh.
- Ennis' chance... he played well IMO, but he needs to shoot that puck at a net defended only by skaters
Ugly:
- Kevyn Sylvester... Not a fan, Jack Edwards-type homerism and idiotism. Awful.
RJ may be loud and some other teams might find it obnoxious, but he's sincere and respectful of other teams... Sylvester is... Neither.
G:
-Got to watch the game with my dad for the first time in awhile, he kept asking me who these new guys were, by the end of the game, he knew their names. That's what matters.
-Kassian is different than any prospect we've had in years. I remember Rasmussen being a high profile guy at one time but BZK puts up points!
-Ehrhoff gets his points, regardless of hype.
-Ennis
-The team responding to Tootoo
-Tootoo for running a goalie while he's recuperating. As a Sabre's fan, it sucks, but that is the sort of thing that chippy teams do. We may want to play by a moral code, but that won't get us very far.
No Bad or Ugly, I'm going to be up there again next week for two weeks and I'll be sure to find a scapegoat after that.
G: -Adam with a sick goal and an overall great game
-Ennis finally finding the back of the net
-Leino with a strong performance and 2 assists. Hopefully we get more production out of him.
-Kassian has sick hands. Can't wait to see him develop.
-Ehrhoff playing like he deserves $4m/yr.
-Miller standing up for himself.
B:-Roy was garbage
-Pominville
-Vanek has cooled off a lot...tonight he looked lost. Invisible.
-Not much offense...but we buried our chances.
U:-Barry trotz looks like a munchkin from the Wizard of Oz.
-It seems like some players/teams have it out for Miller a little bit. I personally think he whines sometimes but the amount of times he's been bowled over this season is ridiculous.
