No clue what kind of coach he'll be but I'm not a fan of hiring guys with no experience. Apparently they're going to surround him with some experienced assistants so that should make things a bit easier. But then there's also rumours of Rick Fox and Luke Walton joining the staff, for Fisher's sake I hope they're not the main assistants.

Why would Carmelo want to play for a rookie coach and garbage teammates? People talk about the money but he'd likely make that back anyways. Only difference is that with the Knicks the 5th year is guaranteed but with a new team he'd only be able to sign a 4 year deal and then he could make the money back on his next contract.

To be fair, rookie coaches have had a ridiculously good record recently, I know the nets haven't lived up to 180 million dollars of salary and tax(or whatever it is) but they were pretty good and the defense was quite special.

There's mark Jackson, Hornacek, and of course the job larry bird did some time ago,

That said, Carmelo is going to be giving up a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...

Ooooooot of money if he leaves, and he's always wanted to play for the Knicks since he was a kid so i think it's 75-25

The Triangle in NY? I can dig it. No Melo? That sucks but Lebron in FA would make up for that nicely. Knicks can have a Franchise defining offseason here
