@brodiebrazilCSN

Expecting official release from #sjsharks tomorrow on which RFA's have been re-signed, and which will be retained with qualifying offers.

1 year deals, have to be an eye opener for young players, even if it is a 1 way contract.

Aww why not a 2-3 year deal? If for nothing else but the novelty of his number.

are they really not sold on desjardins in that 4C spot? or is that the natural progression from a 2 way contract?

If he gets a one-way deal, I wouldn't be surprised if he changes his number. I would think 25 unless Boyle gets traded.

It's a natural progression plus they would like to get one more year out of him to prove himself before they give him a longer deal since he'd be an RFA after a one year deal.

I would love to see him step up and play a more pivotal role on the PK, push for second pairing on the PK.

And he'd immediately drop out of my top 3 favorite Sharks. Probably be in the top 5 instead.

The puns would dry up if he changed his number though! Anyways I think he could eventually be a good #3 center. Maybe not this year but in the near future.

10th in goal differencial. (+18).

i see one true weakness with the defense on this team. and it wasn't due to a bad defense core
Niemi.

A goaltender who can not control rebounds is going to kill his team short-handed every single time.

Watch our aggressive PK style with Niemi in net. Sharks pressure the puck, leave the middle open, lazy shot to the net, HUGE rebound to the slot, GOAL.

I remember calling the "Niemi rebounds + Sharks defense = Turrible" thing when the the signing happened.

So +1 for me then.

I remember Wilson saying after the draft that they'll give Hertl a serious look in training camp this year. I honestly wouldn't be too surprised if Hertl is on our opening night roster, at least for a 9 game trial. Just like Brandon Saad with the Hawks this past season.
