Filppula story updated w/ St. James, Khan. Sounds like he's OK, justs suffered a nick and needs equipment modification:
Equipment issues? Maybe a bad cut but it doesn't sound serious and I don't see him missing more than 1 game, if any.

This top six looks awfully bad without Filppula. Poor Zetterberg
Franzen-Datsyuk-Bertuzzi
Cleary-Zetterberg-Hudler

From that MLive article, it sounds like someone stepped on his foot with the front or back of their skate. "Small but deep" (that's what she said) sounds like that sort of situation eh?

Who would have thought that the day would come when Flipper gets injured...and it makes a HUGE impact (the lines looked a mess last night). I'm happy for him. Get well soon, Flips.

Kind of the story of Filppula's career. Every time he seems on the verge of a breakout the injury bug presents itself. Get well soon Fil, we need you.

Just count the turnovers and wiffed shots.

No whiffed shots. I counted like twice that Hudler passed up a slot shot to hand it off to someone else with a worse shooting angle. Guy has no confidence right now. He needs to shoot.

Good news!

according to Finnish media, Filppula is going to play tonight against Blues.

MTV3, Finland.

I meant to say "plays"... just so used to Hudler being on the third line that "stays" came out.

Although I wouldn't be shocked to see Babcock demote him because Flip got injured.

Looks like the Finnish media is incorrect...

Khan has confirmed that he will not be in the lineup tonight against St. Louis.

He definitely won't be 90-100%. I'm not sure how good he'll be but the impact will be noticeable.

Considering it's a cut, that it would probably heal quicker the more they leave it alone and not risk re-opening it, why not just sit him and call him Nyquist or Tatar to fill out that top6 spot for a game or two?

Apparently he's wearing a Kevlar wrap or something. And he scored a goal. So, that person you quoted is just a big moron.

Although I guess we shouldn't be too surprised. Sometimes a scoring line player produces right away after an injury and then goes cold for a little bit.
