Congrats to Johan Santana for being the first Met to ever pitch a No Hitter.

i am literally in tears right now, i'm with my bro and my 11 day old nephew (new met fan obviously too bad for him) and we have never been prouder mets fans. it may be a sad achievement but as mets fans we'll take it. me and my bro have been proud mets fans all of our lives from early 80s and on and never wavered in a city full of yanks fans, i am so damn happy right now

Now I don't have to hear they are one of the last two teams w/o a no-no. Thank you Johan!

Good for you man

And never think of anything as a sad achievement. Part of sports is enjoying the little things. They don't all have to be world championships to be great moments.

It's exciting stuff. I actually heard on Twitter in the 7th inning and switched over from the Yankees game.

I'm a Yankees fan but I look at the Mets sort of like a cousin rather than a rival. It's nice to see them do well.

It's moments like these that make it awesome to be a Mets fan. It's because we don't get to "sip the champagne" as often as the other organization in NY.

One thing to see in my lifetime is done. Next one is a Rangers Cup and a Mets WS.

Anyone notice the Met fan who got tackled? I think they should have just escorted him out, instead they looked like they put him in a headlock. He wasn't hurting anyone.

Its been a tough week with the rangers going down, and even the knicks ending the way they did but tonight was special. Im sure there will be fans from other teams who will say that its not legit but i've seen a few no hitters where the umps have screwed up

I'm in the same boat. I texted a bunch of my Mets fans friends in the 8th to make sure they were watching.

How about the a$$ in the Carter jersey who tried to join the celebration. Did he really think he wouldn't get caught?

It doesn't matter. You can't run on the field. Hopefully they don't arrest him like what normally happens, but too bad. You also never know what he's going to do. Maybe he did want to hurt someone.
