Leave things the way they are, except move Winnipeg to the west. End of story. Not a fan of the realignment.
You mean go back to the way it was before?

But you don't need to re-align the entire league to get more inter-conference play. Just change the schedule structure.

5-6 games a year is not that big of an issue really. it's not like you are making 5 more trips out west, instead you'll have 1 more road trip or 1 longer road trip. since you will be visiting every nhl city, it'll be easier for scheduling. In 1 shot, you could have an 8-game road trip so that you visit all of the very conference A or B

And that's because they had a couple of years in a row of facing each other in the playoffs. You'll see more of that under the new playoff format.

I don't see how this is possible. There are playoff games on every night, usually twice a night. You'll still be able to watch just about everyone play.

Divisional playoffs are going to conjure up new rivalries and revive old ones. Maybe you say you hate it because you don't want Boston and Montreal playing each other every year in the playoffs? Personally I think it's fantastic. Rivalries in the eastern and atlantic divisions are going to be absolute chaos.

Plus, the possibilities of getting new cup final match ups is extremely exciting to me.

Plus, which were the most entertaining series of few years (finals not included)? Montreal and Buffalo. Both of which are divisional opponents. Familiarity breeds contempt.
You forgot about last year, when they had the West coast games earlier. People in San Jose were freaking out at the earlier game times.

What's going to be the reasoning they present to the public?
So the spin is in, and Bettman specifically mentions the relocation flexibility of the new format as a benefit (of course saying that they aren't looking at moving any teams currently, obligatory). Also said some things about having to review the current structure to address the complaints of various clubs. Said a lot of things that made me think Detroit was a big driver in this.

Bill Daly specifically mentioned Dallas, Detroit, Columbus, and Minny. He also mentioned relocation flexibility.

Frankly, I didn't expect that much honesty.
