Sherman and Gauthier were reported by Dater to be chatting it up during the Kings/Avs game. I'm still convinced Goats was in town to talk to Lombardi though.

It's because Gali and Mules can actually hold onto the damn puck and don't cycle for no reason (Winnik), fall down (Yip), or skate slowly and lose the puck (Porter). Gali fights with Staz for positioning and Mules gets into the open spaces so Staz can actually make a pass to him for a good scoring chance.

As a preliminary matter, I do not believe such a deal would work simply based on the cap implications. Colorado is hugging the cap floor and at any given time this season is only $1-2 million over the cap. Plus, I believe that Buffalo is close to the cap max, so Buffalo will definitely have to move salary prior to this proposed deal.

As far as the value, I think Buffalo would have to add a different forward, perhaps a Stafford or Adam. One of the Avs' best prospects, Joey Hishon, I believe will be very similar to Ennis, assuming that he can get healthy. The Avs seem to have a need for more forward size, particularly in its top-6. So Stafford, Adam, and Buffalo prospect Kassian may have more value. The Avs' brass may be wary of Stafford and the length of his deal and whether he can duplicate his goal production from last season, or whether that was an aberration.

No offense, but I personally like the inclusion of Ennis and a 1st, but Sekera has no spot here...we have an overabundance of Defensemen, to the point that we here on the board are discussing the possibility that the Avs might be shopping Quincey.

But I myself wouldn't mind a package of Ennis, Adam, a late 1st for Stastny and a little extra...but I don't forsee that being a deal that Buffalo would favor very highly
