Miller is BACK

The Good -

- Miller with some outstanding saves
- Adam-Leino-Kassian early. BZK with "his" move on the breakaway, despite the bouncing puck and creating the chance for Adam's goal by winning the battle low to start it all.
- Ehrhoff with another herculean night with 1 assist, 26:54 in ToI and that included being hurt and off after taking one in the face
- Hecht winning that late draw
- The response to the Tootoo charge
- Ennis getting off the schneid.
- Wait for it.... I thought this was Gragnani's best game in his own zone all year. He wasn't involved in the play offensively and wound up +3 for the haters of the stat... but there was a lot more engagement out there. Keep it up Marc. The team needs that.

The Bad -

- More bad penalties
- Some bad execution (the missed empty net/lack of shift change)
- Roy stunk in their zone tonight

The Ugly -

- Another injury? Come on....
- Tootoo's charge.

I'm Miller's biggest critic, but damn was he impressive today. I hope he's okay from the Tootoo hit. Need him to be 100%.

Loved Kassian, guy was great on the boards and in the corners, so strong on the puck. He looks so good right now, more than I ever expected from him this year.

Not too happy with VHP, they need to start scoring with more consistency.

Other than the Ennis goal, the 2nd line blowed. Just terrible.

Oh props to my boy Hoff, guy did everything tonight. Stuck up for his goalie, an assist, good defensive play. He's starting to come around and he looks good.

And with Mess Miller from earlier in the season. It was good to see him back in old form...playing basic, instinctive hockey. Him playing like a top goalie will be a boost.

Can we go a game without an injury, though? Goose now? Come on. I'm hoping Gerbe, Kaleta, and Leopold are back soon. Our D essentially rotating 5 guys (one a rookie) is going to wear them out. Even Brennen would be a help.

Depends. Kid has played too much hockey, not redy for load but he's won some big games. This was Miller's show though. Full marks

'nother Ugly: Not the kind of night to gain any ground. Most of the teams ahead of the Sabs got points tonight, as well as a bunch of teams right the sword's tail.

I don't think Kaleta or Gerbe are close. And of course McCormick being out with a concussion is also troublesome.

I'm hoping by Wednesday that Gerbs can go with the cage. Maybe I'm being optimistic. And I was hoping Kaleta's groin strain was a minor set back, not back to square one for him.

The Amazing:

I love angry Miller. That one save in particular was just...wow.

The Good:

Playing physical

Reaction to the Tootoo charge

Rookies.

Gragnani didn't do anything noticeably stupid. Good for him.

Ehrhoff is an absolute beast.

Ennis getting the GWG.

Leino with a very solid game.

Loved Sekera tonight.

Much-needed win.

Hecht continues to be one of our best forwards. Hope people are starting to see how important he can be to this team.

The Bad:

Nashville continuing to go after Miller even after the Tootoo charge

Almost allowing them to get back into the game

Fans pulling the "Miiiilllerrrr...you suck!" chant when he was playing like an absolute beast. Don't hate folks, appreciate.

The Ugly:

Tootoo. Although nowhere near as bad as the Lucic hit, he's gotta be smarter out there. Stupid, stupid move. Then again, I almost want to thank him, because I think that might've been the spark that this team needed. We'll see.

Miller was OUTSTANDING tonight. Although I think he would want the 2nd goal back...he played with that edge and dare I say swagger that we're used to from him. Coming out to challenge shooters, not taking **** from Tootoo...and oh yeah, making a few ridiculous saves too.

Loved the response, hate that Goose is hurt now, Leino-Adam-Kassian was absolutely brilliant tonight (which they needed, because with Weber/Suter you knew they were going to be all over VHP). Some missed chances (Ennis atoned for his, Staff missed the 2-on-1, Vanek almost with the highlight reel goal), but go on the road and take 2.

Although next time, let's get more than 14 shots on goal.

G:

-WINNING
-Miller.
-Physical play.
-Secondary scoring. We get that, we can win.
-Burying chances. Didn't get many but they made them count.
-Adam, Kassian and Leino look to compliment each other nicely.
-Ennis with his first.
-Answering the bell.

B:

-Too many turnovers in our own zone
-Not much in the way of offensive pressure
- The PP

U:

-Another injury. (Gaustad)
-Drew Stafford. Time to take a seat in the press box. His game is horrible.

Offense was putrid, Roy and Stafford are disgustingly bad.

Miller stole that game or we'd all be *****ing.

Given that Goose is a center, if he misses any games, my guess is we see Sczcechura back up.

GOOD

-Miller. He needed that. The team needed that.
-Adam. Great first period.
-Leino. Ditto. Four points in four games. Slowly starting to turn it around.
-Kassian in the first two periods. Beast mode. He's hard to play against. It's a treat to watch him toy with defensemen who just can't get around him to get to the puck when he's shielding it along the wall.
-Hecht. Liked his game tonight. I don't remember him moving this well.
-Ennis. Flubbed play on the open net notwithstanding, I liked his game. It's so nice to have someone who can carry the puck with pace.
-The third goal. Ennis and Roy on the forecheck created the turnover, and Tyler sniping Lindback.
-Sekera. He had some great wheels tonight.
-The response to Tootoo.

BAD

-Other than the third goal, Roy was pretty bad tonight.
-Stafford. He was awful tonight. He's back to being bad when he's not scoring. His mental game is bad right now.
-Not one of McNabb's best games. Didn't like him on Nashville's second goal, and Suter turned him inside out on one rush early in the 3rd. Still like him, though.
-Kassian had some struggles in the 3rd.

UGLY
-Another injury. You cannot be serious.
-I hate us when we lead by two goals.

It's not as minor as it seems -- it's what's dogging him and if he can't get it right, he's going to be in and out of the lineup and of limited benefit. I think he needs to shut it down long enough to get it actually better.

Gerbe... I don't know. He might be ready by mid-week. *shrug* Maybe not.

I remember some unintelligible chanting from shortly after the Tootoo charge, maybe that was the sissy part. But I also distinctly heard the "Miiilllleerrrrr x3...You suck" chant later on.
