No shocker, now to just see if there are any surprises in the alignment.

Boston, Toronto, Montreal, Buffalo, and Ottawa is my guess.

And for good reason. Every team got something out of the proposal shown on HNIC except them.

I feel like the Olympian who worked for four years towards their one event, and now that the closing ceremony happened, have no idea what I'm going to do with the rest of my life.

Yeah, but then Dallas, Minnesota, Detroit, Columbus, and Washington didn't have a great deal in the most recent alignment/schedule.

All 5 of the Northeast team stay together though, so if the worst that happens is they get stuck with Tampa and Florida, they should talk to Dallas and consider themselves lucky.

They're still together. And they're in a seven team grouping. Why would they vote no?

so long as there is some kind of crossover to prevent teams from getting screwed every season because they are in a tough division I'm happy.

Where's the incentive to vote yes? Getting two sunbelt teams in their division? More travel?

I think the divisions will be

West, Central, Atlantic. I guess the FLA/TB division has to be called East.

I received a funny tweet that said their division should be called "Cold Places & Screw Florida"

Poor MoreOrr, probably the person most excited about realignment and his team (and Buffalo) are probably worst off. Everyone gained something, not Boston and Buff are in a div with canadian teams, and 2 teams in florida. I'd be steamed.

But I think this will overall be a great thing for the league.

This was absolutely my own first thought as well. What's he going to write about now?

From the standpoint of a Caps fan that has been bitter about the Patrick-to-Southeast move for a long time, this is fantastic news.

Dismantling that terrible, terrible, Southeast division is an idea everyone can get behind, fortunately.
