nice idea.
i guess i'll start with a few questions:
-Anyone see Luleå-Timrå? wondering if Johan Harju got any ice time, or if he just dressed.
-I noticed Simon Skoog did not play for HV 71 today. Does he have an injury or something?

Great initiative for this thread, I was thinking along the same lines.

Anyone who dares to do any predictions for tomorrow after todays rather unexpected results?

He is injured (not sure what kind of injury though). He is training now however I read and should be back in a couple of weeks.

Nice game by Malmö, beating Hv 71 in Jönköping! Färjestad is as ineffective as always, lucky for us the "sniper" Emil Kåberg is in good shape.

And Gusten Törnqvist, is this his year maybe?

Could very well be the year of goalies in the SEL

And all young players will learn a lot from the NHLers. Could be a boom of swedish players to the NHL next year. Yes, I don't think the lockout will last for more than a year.

Robert Döme is on the other hand doubtful for tonight's game due to a groin injury, which he sustained in yesterday's practice...

So the first round of this years SEL is complete:

Luleå - Timrå 5-0
Mora - Färjestad 1-1
HV71 - Malmö 1-5
Brynäs - Modo 3-3
Djurgården - Södertälje 4-2
Frölunda - LHC 2-1

A few unexpected results and a few not so unexpected. The reffing seems as bad as ever, Forsberg 2+10 for what? Seriously. The DIF - SSK game was a bit comical as well, you could count the 5-on-5 shifts on your left hand. I hope Mora signs Mikael Nylander or some other good center. I think they have a chance at staying in the SEL with this team.

If we(Yes I say we) cant win this year I cant imagine when we are going to win..

Less then 24hour til the return of the king. Its hockeyfever in town, everyone is talking about the game tomorrow. Forsberg will for sure get a standing ovation when they lower his jersey from the roof.

Rumour mention that people are paying up to 10 times the price for a ticket for tomorrows game.

I really like the thread which shows most of the games box scores. Where can a language challenged person follow all the games box scores or the teams stats so to follow some players and how their season is going? Thanks in advance.

well... less than 10 minutes into his first game back in Sweden and Josef Boumedienne gets a major+game misconduct. not completely unexpected, i suppose .

Magnus Kahnberg plays reguarly as he did last season, with the same linemates, Jari Tolsa and Joel Lundqvist. He has had a somewhat slow start of the season, but as all pure scorers he will probably start to load in goals soon, especially as the team as a whole is doing so well. Then you can afford to take chances and shoot a lot. I haven't seen him play so far this season, but I don't think he has taken a step back. Last season all he shot against the crease went in, and it's not that easy all the time. When the season is summarized I think he will land around 25 goals, which is very good in the SEL. He has 2 goals in 8 games so far.

Has Jens Karlsson been getting more ice time this year? How has he looked?

He has sadly spent most of his time on the bench, you can "thank" the lockout for that.

He has played the last two games due to a suspension to PJ Axelsson.

Zlatan, uhm.. I mean Dragan scored his first SEL goal of the season tonight as Södertälje defeated Malmö 4-3.

Peter Forsberg is tearing it up right now. 1goal, 4 assists tonight .. and 7 points in his last 3 games. Morrison will have to watch out in the scoring race

It won't be a surprising if one of the last year NHLers won the scoring title, IF the NHLers stay the whole season. Best candidates so far:

Brendan Morrison
Peter Forsberg
Kristian Huselius
Henrik Zetterberg

Has Jens played well with the ice time he's had, or does he not play much because he is just not good enough to warrent more playing time? I'm trying to find out if he has the ability to play well or if he just does not have the hockey talent to become successful in either the SEL or NHL?

I can't wait for tonight - me and i friend have got tickets for MoDo-Timrå

After that Forsberg display against HV, it will be very nice to see him on home ice facing off against perhaps the best (together with Frölunda) team at the moment
