Why is no one in the slot? Why has no one been covering the slot the entire night?

Coming into tonight we'd scored two and allowed three while playing 4on4.

Mueller lost accountability of his man and it cost us.

We suck! Fire everyone! Waive everyone! Trade for every overpriced scorer we can! Suter and Weber are leaving! Move the team!

I miss anything?

Another game we mostly control and really don't deserve to lose. Bummer....

We have scored 2 goals or less 14 times. FOURTEEN times already. This team is just not very good right now. We have glaring holes on offense, lacking the dynamic scorer that we have needed since inception, and we need a second pairing defensemen. Sadly, we continue to toil away doing nothing to address these needs. We have the pieces in place to make a long run, but for some reason, we refuse to do anything as an organization. Ugh. I suspect Poile will do something eventually. I hope it isn't too little too late. I hope it is a piece that makes a difference.

Why is Mueller out there 4 on 4 against a team that played last night? Our guys should've been fresher. There's no excuse to have Mueller on the ice that late in the game and it cost us. Poor coaching.

While we're on poor coaching, can our 5 on 3 look any more pathetic? Really, 1:30 to score on the first decent shot on net? That's BS. We wasted 25 seconds before the second faceoff by passing the puck around the perimeter. We had 5 guys standing around not doing jack. Why are Weber and Suter on the points that they were on. They should've been on opposite points. No collapsing of the D towards the net. Atrocious. We should have scored sooner on the 5 on 3 which should have left us over a minute of 5 on 4 time and another score yet we score once to tie it up only to lose it with an AHL'er on the ice in crunch time. Inexcusable.

Oh well. I'd say if we keep playing like this Trotz is in trouble but we know that isn't the case. Guess we get to ride this storm out yet again. I wonder if we can turn it around against Columbus and without Tootoo, McGrattan has to dress. Who else is going to drop the gloves when he's off the ice? Anyone? Should be fun to watch Dorsett run some of our guys as well as Boll.

Every defensive pairing was out there for a goal allowed.

It would be nice to see a few shots from the slot. We either blast it from outside or get in so tight that there's no room to pick a spot. Disappointing ....

Trotz had Wilson out with Legwand at first, then there was a whistle. Trotz pulled Wilson in defensive zone for the face off and elected to put Mueller in his place. That, could be part of the problem.
You guys had some great chances tonight! Next practice.....HIT THE NET

It's pretty sad that the only way our forwards can help score goals is by kicking the goalie's glove with the puck in it. Once again, no offense from the overpaid losers up front. Everyone still gushing about Wilson? Just checking. I swear about half the time he turns it over at the blue line and spends the rest of his shift chasing the puck around in our own zone.

This team isn't good enough offensively. They cannot sustain enough pressure; scoring two goals isn't going to cut it unless Pekka plays out of his mind or we don't have any defensive lapses. No matter how good you build out from the net, eventually mistakes happen in the defensive zone, especially when you fail to generate constant pressure. We do not have enough offense to cover those mistakes.

That was a team on the second half of a back to back by the way...

Phoenix Goal 1: Pekka.

Phoenix Goal 2: Suter and Weber standing around in the same spot doing absolutely nothing. Both with their backs to the dude who was ALL alone in the slot.

Phoenix Goal 3: How was that 4-on-4 in the first place? I wasn't aware you could drop your gloves and pummel a guy who doesn't wanna fight and get away with 2 minutes for roughing. The ref was being a total chicken **** not wanting to call significant penalties so late in the game. You know if it was halfway through the second period Aucoin would've gotten either a double minor or 5 for fighting. Then, for the majority of the 4-on-4, we had Josi, Blum and Mueller out there! WTF?! Really, Trotz?! What is the rationale behind that?!

We HAVE to get this turned around. Our home record is getting pathetic.

If you cannot throw guys out there on a 4v4 perhaps they shouldn't be in the NHL...
