Goalies can also lack confidence in the D in front of them, which is never good either. And yes, our D is THAT bad.

If SY is scouting for a goalie, he's most likely looking at Harding since we really can't afford Luongo...

About the same bracket as Schneider when it comes to experience but will probably cost much less, a path I prefer.

Harding kind of reminds me of a more-polished Mike Smith before we traded for him. Decent numbers, few seasons in the NHL playing behind a strong starter, ready for his own chance, but not regarded as a can't miss prospect or something like Schneider or Bernier.

It's exactly the same situation than Smith... I think he's a bit better... still would prefer Schneider

I'd love to ask Yzerman about being at the VAN game, just to see how stupid he could make the question seem, whether it's stupid or not.

Maybe he was "scouting" Vancouver though. According to gobolt7 their scouts have been to Tampa games all last week.

I can't imagine we are desperate enough to claim him though for a brief time he seemed to have promise.

Just because I know somebody will ask, St Louis, Nashville and Minnesota only teams on scout roster tonight, no Vancouver, though

Hopefully we won't have to give up Brad Richards again to get him.

Did Paul Holmgren find a way to block SFY's Jedi powers? He should have coughed up Bob, Giroux, and JVR by now.

If we do get Harding, and keep Garon, we'll have two right catching goalies.

Hold on, Harding is from Saskatchewan. No way we just trade for some English pig with no brains. We need a bilingual goalie. French, of course, and another language...Italian, Russian, or what-have-you.

Minor rumblings of news coming today, nothing major though, and at least part of that should be Connolly's return to the team; stay tuned

Nashville sent down Lindback and Blum. Preds fans think there could be more to it than just getting them more ice time.

I like Lindback's skillset, potential, and obviously size but his Onset or whatever kind of worries me.

"The Tampa Bay Lightning were able to sign Victor Hedman to an extension, but they may lose Pavel Kubina to free agency. " That would be a disaster.

Are we really clamoring over a guy with less than 50 NHL games under his belt to be our #1 for what is surely a high asking price? Keep in mind he'd also be going from one of the best defenses in the league to one of the worst. Now I'm not saying Schneider isn't a good goalie with a bright future, but giving up valuable assets for him seems a little risky unless we make some drastic changes on D to solidify our blueline for several years to come.

At this point, I think Yzerman should be looking at deals for players that help us beyond this season. It's not worth trading away picks and prospects simply to make the playoffs this year, because it's pretty clear we won't be a cup contender. At the same time, this team too far past the rebuilding stage to solely go for picks and prospects, at least in my opinion. I know it's a "process", but we already have a pretty solid core in place for the next several years, and a few guys in the system who are close to making the jump into the NHL.

My guess is we wait until the offseason to deal with the goalie situation, and the team won't undergo a mid-season overhaul, although we may see a few deals that help us going forward (pick/prospect/player signed past 2012). And unless we turn it around big time very soon, I would also like to see some of the Admirals get some playing time with the big club.

There's no way we're sticking with Roloson, IMO.

Why not give Tokarski a cup of coffee? Never know he may stand on his head, and is the goalie of the future so no need to trade for a goalie in the off season.
