Look out.
We definitely got better yesterday getting Nash but to be fair, you're getting way too carried away with our team especially as it relates to the offense. Temper your enthusiasm a little; it works better in the long run.

Dave Maloney. Michael Sauer is making tremendous progress. He is feeling better. There is a lot of hope Michael Sauer can be the Michael Sauer of two years ago.

So lets hypothetically say that Sauer makes it back....

Staal-Girardi
Mcdonagh-Sauer?
Del Zotto-Stralman
Bickel

or would Sauer be on the 3rd pairing

If he's 100%, I don't see how he's not playing ahead of Stralman.

Man, Sauer getting better and coming back at the level he was at before the Phaneuf hit would be a huge boost for the Rangers.

We'd be adding that 2nd pairing dman the team could definitely use. His right handed shot (which he manages to get on net, unlike some other dmen we have) and great positioning would really fill a team need since he's been out. It would take a lot of pressure and ice time off the shoulders of a d corps that could otherwise get exhausted during what we hope will be a very long season. And his physicality would certainly be great too.

Not to mention how steady he is with the puck. He consistently makes calm, smooth passes out of our zone to help alleviate pressure and start the transition.

Excited about the idea of him 1) recovering and living a good life outside of hockey, and 2) giving this team the dependable ass kicking presence we've missed.

If he comes back, that has to give us the deepest D corps in the league.

Why would you break up McD and Girardi? I rather see them together and have Staal pair up with Sauer. DZ and Stralman are perfect together.

I still hope we get a D to replace Bickel. Even Eminger would be better.

This is great news...good for a him from a life standpoint. It seems like he will be able to play again barring a setback, the question is will he be skating for training camp?

Also, what is the deal with stralman, is he coming back or not?

Staal-Girardi and McDonagh-Sauer were both very successful pairings. But really, all 4 of those guys are easy players to play with, not too concerned no matter how you slice them.

he has an arbitration hearing at the end of the month, so he'll most likely be back

Really just hope he can recover enough to live a good life and hopefully play again.

Getting him back this season would be HUGE.

Man if we had him in the playoffs, I honestly think we would've made it past the Devils. Our inability to roll out a #6 d-man drained the energy of our top 4.

Awesome news. Rangers still have to go into the season with the assumption that he won't be ready but getting him back would be huge.

Likely true cause they dont want to have to grab a Woywitka on waivers again. And please people do not say Eminger is an option.

I dont mind a vet near the end of his career on a two way deal. That would be ideal. IF Sauer is healthy they go to CT

Perfect. Just keep taking it slow and playing it safe. Make sure that if/when Mike does come back, he's at 100%.
