If the Flames are trading Iginla you would think they would want a younger player then Semin coming back as the center piece. Also Semin is an UFA after the season. It would be a bad trade for the Flames to make.
No, no, no...Holtby is our next Kolzig. Switch him with Neuvirth and we may have deal. Although Semin, Neuvirth, and COL (BOS)'s 2nd is worth at most Iginla and a prospect.
Have you followed Holtby in the minors at all this year? He's been terrible. I'm pretty sure he only made it back up to a .900 this weekend. He's still a few years away from being NHL caliber.
As for the trade, I don't think either club wants this. Flames don't think it's fair value, and Caps don't want an aging Iginla who's going to screw up their efforts to resign Carlson and Green. This is just typical Eklund ********.
Trash. Semin is trash. And for Ignila? The complete opposite players. Yeah, no way the Flames would do this.
Bull-****in'-****. You wanna say Semin's trash? Then prove it, don't just act like it's a fact. 40 goal scorers are not trash. Semin's hasn't been producing lately because he's got Perrault and Johansson as his centers, neither of whom are half way decent playmakers at this point in their careers. The vast majority of calls he gets now are pure reputation calls, to the point that even the Caps announcers have been calling for the Caps to complain to the league about it. He also plays pretty good defense. Bruce stopped using him on the PK, but two years ago when he did get regular PK time, the team scored more SHGs than they allowed PPGs when he was on the ice. When he's not being handicapped by biased refs, he's actually a very capable two way player. If you watched him, you'd know this. But you don't, so you take your anti-Russian bias and what you hear in the media and smear him with no actual evidence. Seriously, I challenge you to refute any of this.
