If people start threads about every sport besides hockey its going to start getting cluttered full of OT sports threads... if you look at the model other team boards use this is how they do it. So this is how it's going to stay sorry.
Or we could just not discuss baseball and make it an All-Purpose NFL Talk Thread...
On a more serious note, as Marty stated, this is how it stays. You'll find that other boards have a general all-purpose sports thread, and if you feel that this thread isn't sufficient, there are separate boards for other sports ala Football, Baseball, etc. on Page 2.
