Yes. I'd rather see Panarin on his place.

Haha too funny. Eklund's debut for the national team could have had a better start

Slightly OT but Zaruba has to stop commentating matches like this......he was commentating it at times like it was the QF/SF of the IHWC....

I wonder if this was even a C-team for us... Jalonen is making a mockery of this tournament bringing SM-liiga 3rd and 4rd liners in. Too bad, I enjoyed watching these games before.

And I'm not saying this because we lost to Russia, we'd probably lost to Russia with our 1st team too as we did in Helsinki earlier.

Of course there are the WJC's and Jokerit are playing the European Trophy but still we could have a better side.

Kronwall hattrick

Well, that's about the best I've seen from this team in EHT in several years.

That was not a bad Russia we beat either, Radulov, Kalinin, Nikulin, Grebeshkov and Korneyev from the latest olympic team plus some of the most high scoring forwards in KHL.

While I agree that these games ought to be far more entertaining with some more proven talent, even these 3rd and 4th liners deserve their chance.

While most of this crop will be exactly what it says on the tin, it's always possible that few of them will actually end up performing in a passable manner.

For the past 15 years and five or so head coaches, anybody with a decent familiarity with Finnish hockey could easily predict the makeup of any national team roster at any given time. Our pool of players was very stable with same old faces leading the show through thick and thin with no real competition waiting underneath them. Jalonen is actually trying to add some depth in that pool. It's not a completely bad thing.

Kronwall as in Staffan Kronwall. Wow! Good for him!

Sweden has done it well to win against both the Czech and Russia in this tournament.

CZE - FIN 5:1 (8. Krejčík, 15. Irgl, 23. Irgl, 50. Vrána, 52. Vrána - 19. Pesonen)

absolutely deserved victory for Czechs ... weak Finish "C" team had no chance

Sweden had a game plan and stuck with it. Barulin was also less than stellar.

Well Russian C team lost to Germany twice and the other D team lost to Slovenia so you should feel better about yourself, lol
