I won't put as much updates as last season as I don't have as much time, but I'll post some infos if you guys are interested.

Still, I'd like to have more debate from swiss posters, but there's not much of them around

34 minutes for Andreas Johansson?

I thought he took 10 + 10 + misconduct in one game...

Finally a Swiss Player Tops the Stats! Other years there were just 1 or 2 Swiss players cracking the top 10 in the scoring race....

They do not have goalie stats yet. Maybe because it is early in the season or maybe cause the league officials suck...

You forget Gil Montandon and Patrick Howald in the eighties, Ivo Rüthemann in the past few years, and Martin Plüss, just to name a few.

(I apologise for the SCB-focussed answer, but that's the team I know most about.)

Unfortunately, I have not seen a lot of games this season. Just some tv-reports with the highlights. So I'll restrict myself giving you some stats:

Rank/Club/Games Played/Wins/Draws/Defeat/Goals/Points
__________________________________________________
1. ZSC Lions 14 9 0 5 53:36 18
2. Bern 11 7 1 3 37:26 15
3. Lugano 10 6 2 2 31:23 14
4. Basel 12 6 2 4 28:33 14
5. Zug 10 5 3 2 38:33 13
6. Servette 10 4 3 3 35:27 11
7. Davos 9 5 0 4 25:22 10
8. Kloten 11 5 0 6 32:28 10
9. Ambrì 10 3 1 6 32:36 7
10. SCL Tigers 10 2 2 6 21:39 6
11. Rapperswil 11 2 2 7 22:34 6
12. Fribourg 10 1 2 7 16:33 4

Topscorers: Name/Club/G/A/P
__________________________________________________

E. Landry (Basel) 10/7/17
A. Wichser (ZSC) 8/8/16
S. Bordeleau (SCB) 7/8/15
P. Fischer (Zug) 6/8/14
D. Quint (Kloten) 5/9/14
L. Wilson (HCD) 8/5/13
G. Metropolit (Lugano) 6/6/12
J. Hlavac (Servette) 4/8/12
H. Domenichelli (Ambri) 7/3/10
H. Hyvönen (Fribourg) 3/7/10
S. Roest (Rapperswil) 5/3/8
L. Burkhalter (Langnau) 4/4/8

Landry, the topscorer of the league, plays in the team that entered into the highest national league only this year. Basel played in the NLB last year.

The team-ranking isn't very clear, as some teams have played 4 or 5 matches more than others.

Hmm, I don't even know if anyone is reading this, but I'll update as often as possible anyway. Tell me if you want more information, I'll try and provide you with it.

Game One:

SC Berne - Kloten Flyers 3: (1:0, 0:0, 2:0)
IN: Bern Arena, Bern
14123 Fans (84% of the possible attendance)
Referee: Brent Reiber, Linesmen: Gilles Mauron, Paul Rébillard

Scorers:
Ivo Rüthemann (André Rötheli, Marc Reichert) 05:03 (PP);
Eric Perrin (Kimmo Kuhta, Sébastien Bordeleau) 41:22 (PP);
Sébastien Bordeleau (Eric Perrin, Kimmo Kuhta) 50:39.

Berne's Captain M. Steinegger was suspended after 14 minutes into the game and will not be allowed to play in the next match. It was an unusually strict verdict by the ref.

HC Lugano - HC Ambri-Piotta 3:4 (0:0, 2:1, 1:2, 0:1)
IN: Stadio Resega, Lugano
5114 fans (61% of the possible attendence)
Referee: Danny Kurmann, Linesmen: Tobias Wehrli, Dany Wirth

Scorers:
Glen Metropolit (Ville Peltonen, Petteri Nummelin) 1:0 27:41 (PP);
Hnat Domenichelli (Jeff Toms, Martin Höhener) 1:1 28:34 (SH);
Raffaele Sannitz (Petteri Nummelin, Glen Metropolit) 2:1 35:35 (PP);
Corsin Camichel (Martin Höhener, Fredrik Svensson) 2:2 45:45 (PP);
Ville Peltonen (Glen Metropolit, Jukka Hentunen) 3:2 47:26;
Corsin Camichel (Fredrik Svensson, Martin Höhener) 3:3 51:54 (PP);
Hnat Domenichelli (Jean-Guy Trudel) 3:4 75:27 (OT)

Lugano is the only play-off-club to have lost at home already. And that after taking the lead three times during the game...

HC Davos - EHC Basel 5:2 (2:1, 2:1, 1:0)
IN: Eisstadion, Davos
3173 fans (43% of possible attendence)
Referee: Nadir Mandioni, Linesmen: Roger Arm, Peter Küng

Scorers:
Michel Riesen (Reto von Arx, Riku Hahl) 1:0 04:13;
Landon Wilson (Brett Hauer, Josef Marha) 2:0 13:22;
Derek Bekar (Mark Astley, Niklas Anger) 2:1 19:51 (PP 3-5);
Björn Christen (Loïc Burkhalter, Michel Riesen) 3:1 26:04 (PP);
René Friedli (Derek Bekar, Ralph Bundi) 3:2 26:33;
Michel Riesen (Marc Gianola, Björn Christen) 4:2 32:38 (PP 5-3);
Peter Guggisberg (Brett Hauer) 5:2 58:46

It's the first time ever, that Basel is in the play-offs. It showed in their first game, but hopefully they'll regain the confidence of the qualifiers and add some suspense to the pairing.

Rapperswil-Jona Lakers - EV Zug 6:1 (1:1, 1:0, 4:0)
IN: Eisbahn Lido, Rapperswil
4017 fans (66% of possible attendence)
Referee: Daniel Schmutz, Linesmen: Jürg Simmen, Adrian Sommer

Scorers:
Thomas Walser (Cyrill Geyer, Stacy Roest) 1:0 02:01 (PP);
René Back (Paul Di Pietro, Duri Camichel) 1:1 08:03 (PP);
Claudio Micheli (Christian Berglund, Markus Bütler) 2:1 31:29 (PP);
Brandon Reid (Christian Berglund, Claudio Micheli) 3:1 44:14
Brady Murray (unassisted) 4:1 47:23;
Antonio Rizzello (Marc Weber, Christian Berglund) 5:1 54:00;
Stacy Roest (Christian Berglund, Jeff Panzer) 6:1 56:37.

Berglund gave four (FOUR!) assists during the game.
If Rapperswil manages to win this series, it will be the first time they do so in their club history.

Playout:

HC Fribourg-Gottéron - SCL Tigers 5:6 (3:1, 0:2, 2:2, 0:1)
Referee: Peter Kunz

Scorers:
Geoffrey Vauclair (Caryl Neuenschwander, Josh Holden) 1:0;
Geoffrey Vauclair (Oliver Kamber, Mark Murphy) 2:0;
Niki Sirén (Niko Mikkola, Marko Tuomainen) 2:1;
Cory Murphy (Gil Montandon) 3:1;
Niko Mikkola (Patrick Sutter) 3:2;
Brad Moran (Patrick Sutter) 3:3;
Gil Montandon 4:3;
Geoffrey Vauclair (Mark Murphy, Oliver Kamber) 5:3;
Marko Tuomainen (Christian Moser) 5:4;
Brad Moran (Marko Tuomainen) 5:5;
Martin Stettler (Marko Tuomainen, Niko Mikkola) (OT).

Montandon is the oldest player in the league, he's nearly 41, and still scoring.

ZSC Lions - Genève-Servette HC 2:5 (1:2, 0:1, 1:2)
Referee: Marco Prugger

Scorers:
Wesley Snell (Jamie Wright, Igor Fedulov) 0:1;
Severin Blindenbacher (Daniel Steiner, Mathias Seger) 1:1;
Christophe Rivera (Morris Trachsler) 1:2;
Jamie Wright (Wesley Snell, Igor Fedulov) 1:3;
Sven Helfenstein (Michel Zeiter) 2:3;
Yves Sarault 2:4;
Morris Trachsler (Philippe Bozon) 2:5.

At the beginning of the season, every one saw the Lions as a favourite of the title. The team includes four players of the national team. Everyone is very interested at how the Lions will cope with the play-out situation.

Hi! I've just started following the progress of Geneva's team, because they just signed one of my favorite players as a goaltender (Neil Little).

Where can I find box scores for Swiss league games?

What does "play-out" mean? That's a term I haven't seen before, and it might not be something that has an equivalent in North American pro hockey. (For us, the teams that qualify for the playoffs keep playing, and the ones that don't qualify are finished playing at the end of the regular season.)

Thanks for any info you can provide!

Hi! I get the boxscores from the site hockeyfans. At the top left of the starting page is the scroll menu 'Aktuell'. You can click onto 'Letzter Spieltag' and you get the boxscores of the last game day. I you want those of past games, there's the archive which you can access by clicking on the month (AUG,SEP,OKT, ...) and day you want.

The last team from the top league and the top team from the second league (NLB) play against each other. If the NLB team wins, it gets into the NLA, while the other team is relegated to the NLB.

In the play-outs the teams that didn't reach the play-offs play semifinals and finals, just that it's the losers that get into the next round. The team that looses twice is the last in the group and faces the NLB club.

I think I made a mess of this explanation , but I hope it is clear enough.

Servette really does need a goalie that is good. The defence has been better than it is these days and Pavoni's backup goalies are no good. (In fact, I have even been told that Pavoni was supposed to be backup, but the other goalies were that bad that Servette ended up using their veteran goalie.)

From what I've seen in the game against the Lions, Servette has gone back to what it does best: aggressive play and a good offence.

Did you know: The club's mascot is an eagle, and they let it fly round the stadium before games.

Game Two

Playoffs:

Kloten Flyers - SC Berne 2:1 OT (0:0, 0:1, 1:0. 1:0)
IN: Schluefweg, Kloten
5521 Fans (73% of the possible attendance)
Referee: Danny Kurmann, Linesmen: Tobias Wehrli, Dany Wirth

Scorers:
André Rötheli (Toni Sööderholm, Beat Gerber) 0:1 28:19;
Fabian Guignard (Romano Lemm) 1:1 51:48 (PP 5-3);
Romano Lemm (Marcel Jenni) 2:1 63:31.

M. Steinegger's suspension was retracted and he could play.
Had it not been for the goalie, Berne would have lost by a greater margin. Kloten did more for the game.

HC Ambri-Piotta - HC Lugano 3:0 (0:0, 2:0, 1:0)
IN: Stadio Valascia, Ambri
5054 fans (72% of the possible attendence)
Referee: Nadir Mandioni, Linesmen: Roger Arm, Peter Küng

Scorers:
Jean-Guy Trudel (Hnat Domenichelli) 1:0 24:46 (PP);
Jean-Guy Trudel (Reto Kobach) 2:0 29:29 (PP);
Jean-Guy Trudel (Hnat Domenichelli, Thomas Bäumle) 3:0 59:36.

Another great game for Thomas Bäumle, the goalie of Ambri. His positioning was without a flaw. His rewards: A shutout, an assist and the award 'Best player of Ambri' in this game.

EHC Basel - Basel
Will be played today.

EV Zug - Rapperswil-Jona Lakers 2:0 (2:0, 0:0, 0:0)
IN: Hertihalle, Zug
4007 fans (59% of possible attendence)
Referee: Brent Reiber, Linesmen: Jürg Simmen, Adrian Sommer

Scorers:
Barry Richter (Oleg Petrov) 1:0 08:49 (PP);
Timo Pärssinen (Patrick Fischer) 2:0 13:28 (PP).

Not much to add.
Must have been as boring as Kloten vs. Berne.

Playout:

SCL Tigers - HC Fribourg-Gottéron 5:4 a.P. (3:0, 1:1, 0:3, 0:0, 1:0)
Referee: Peter Kunz

Scorers:
Trevor Meier (Vitaly Lakhmatov, Patrick Sutter) 1:0;
Vitaly Lakhmatov (Michael Liniger, Simon Lüthi) 2:0;
Cory Larose (Brad Moran, Marc Leuenberger) 3:0;
Niki Sirén (Simon Lüthi, Patrick Sutter) 4:0;
Gil Montandon (Cory Murphy, Benjamin Plüss) 4:1;
Julien Sprunger (Benjamin Plüss, Philippe Marquis) 4:2;
Toni Mäkiaho (Oliver Kamber, Cory Murphy) 4:3;
Toni Mäkiaho (Josh Holden, Cory Murphy) 4:4;
Niko Mikkola 5:4 80:00.

Two games, both lost in OT or in the Penalty shooting. The hockey gods must have a grudge against Fribourg.

Genève-Servette HC - ZSC Lions 4:3 OT (2:2, 0:1, 1:0, 1:0)
Referee: Roland Stalder

Scorers:
Christophe Rivera (Mike Knoepfli) 1:0;
Adrian Wichser (Mike Richard) 1:1;
Severin Blindenbacher (Mikael Karlberg) 1:2;
Jan Hlavac (Igor Fedulov, Jamie Wright) 2:2;
Mikael Karlberg (Mathias Seger) 2:3;
John Gobbi (Igor Fedulov, Philippe Bozon) 3:3;
Philippe Bozon (Goran Bezina) 4:3.

The Lions tried to react, and it showed in the quality of the game. Maybe they'll win next time?

Game Two

Playoffs:

EHC Basel - HC Davos 3:1 (0:0, 2:0, 1:1)
IN: St. Jakob-Arena, Basel
5127 Fans (77% of the possible attendance)

Scorers:
Julian Walker (Derek Bekar, Gaëtan Voisard) 1:0 35:24 (PP);
Derek Bekar (Thomas Nüssli, Niklas Anger) 2:0 37:36 (PP 5-3);
Landon Wilson (Josef Marha, Brett Hauer) 2:1 42:31 (PP);

Game Three

Playoffs:

SC Berne - Kloten Flyers 3:6 (1:3, 1:3, 1:0)
IN: Bern Arena
16789 Fans (100% of the possible attendance)
Referee: Kunz, Linesmen: Arm, Küng

Scorers:
7. Saarela (Perrin, Rolf Ziegler) 1:0;
7. Stancescu (Peter) 1:1;
8. Lemm (Rintanen, Guignard) 1:2 (PP 5-3);
9. Jenni (Brimanis) 1:3 (PP);
21. Pittis (Bärtschi, Rintanen) 1:4 (PP);
24. Lindemann (Rothen) 1:5.
31. Rintanen (Pittis, Ehrensperger) 1:6(PP);
38. Steinegger (Rüthemann) 2:6;
50. Rüthemann (Dubé, Raffainer) 3:6.

Kloten deserved the win, for although the SC Berne started well into the game, Kloten dominated most of the game. Steinegger's goal (he's D-man but skated like a forward in front of the net and scored like a sniper) didn't help much. Already the press is speculating whether the first team after the qualifiers will exit the playoffs in the first series.

HC Lugano - HC Ambri-Piotta 4:5 (2:1, 2:2, 0:2)
IN: Stadio Resega, Lugano
7713 fans (93% of the possible attendence)
Referee: Stalder, Linesmen: Kehrli, Popovic

Scorers:
5. Domenichelli (Toms) 0:1;
11. Jeannin (Nummelin, Peltonen) 1:1 (PP);
19. Gardner (Metropolit) 2:1;
22. Trudel (Domenichelli) 2:2;
25. Toms (Rebek) 2:3;
32. Peltonen (Nummelin) 3:3 (PP);
38. Jeannin (Metropolit) 4:3;
51. Demuth (Du Bois) 4:4 (SH);
58. Toms (Domenichelli, Kobach) 4:5 (PP).

During the series it has become more and more apparent that the 'foreign' players of the two teams are equal. In my opinion, the Swiss players in team Ambri are playing more consistently than those of Lugano. The further performance of these players will determine future games.

HC Davos - EHC Basel 10:1 (4:0, 4:0, 2:1)
IN: Eisstadion Davos
Attendance: 5106 fans (70% of possible attendence)
Referee: Reiber, Linesmen: Simmen, Sommer

Scorers:
9. Christen (Juhlin, Burkhalter) 1:0 (PP);
10. Reto von Arx (Jan von Arx, Gianola) 2:0;
12. Gianola (Kress) 3:0 (PP);
16. Burkhalter (Juhlin) 4:0 (PP);
21. (20:49) Burkhalter(Wilson) 5:0;
25. Christen (Riesen, Hahl) 6:0 (PP);
34. Hahl (Juhlin, Reto von Arx) 7:0;
37. Ambühl 8:0 (PP);
45. Bekar (Thornton) 8:1 (SH ... );
47. Reto von Arx (Juhlin, Hahl) 9:1;
60. (59:52) Riesen (Reto von Arx) 10:1 (PP 5-3).

What a reaction by last year's champion! Though Basel made it easy: They seem to have had a competition within the team who would get the most penalties...
Only 70% attendence?? What's up with the Davos fans?!?!?!

Rapperswil-Jona Lakers - EV Zug 3:1 (1:0, 2:1, 0:0)
IN: Lido, Rapperswil
6000 fans (100% of possible attendence)
Referee: Kurmann, Linesmen: Wehrli, Wirth

Scorers:
3. Micheli (Berglund) 1:0 (PP);
21. (20:49) Reid (Micheli) 2:0 (PP);
30. Micheli (Reid, Berglund) 3:0;
38. Di Pietro (Maneluk, Pärssinen) 3:1.

I really like the way Rappi is playing. Very solid and focussed. I hope they'll do what no team of the club has managed before and win the series!

Playouts:

HC Fribourg-Gottéron - SCL Tigers 5:3 (2:2, 2:0, 1:1)
Referee: Mandioni

Scorers:
6. Lachmatow (Liniger) 0:1;
14. Holden (Lintner, Shearer) 1:1;
16. Plüss (Lintner) 2:1;
20. Sirén (Sutter) 2:2;
22. Sprunger (Plüss, Montandon) 3:2;
40. Mäkiaho (Cory Murphy) 4:2;
52. Miettinen (Moran, Sutter) 4:3;
59. Sprunger (Montandon) 5:3.

Finally!
This nearly makes up for the disappointment of the Berne-game. (Absolutely subjective reaction, of course. )

ZSC Lions - Genève-Servette HC 4:3 OT (2:1, 0:0, 1:2, 1:0)
Referee: Schmutz

Scorers:
2. Zeiter (Roach) 1:0;
7. Steiner (McTavish, Karlberg) 2:0;
9. Gobbi (Sarault, Bezina) 2:1;
44. Bezina (Sarault, Bezina) 2:2;
47. McTavish (Roach, Karlberg) 3:2;
49. Wright 3:3
67. McTavish (Steiner) 4:3.

This time, the 'Z' won. Nice. Makes the series all the more interesting.

Game Four

Playoffs:

Kloten Flyers - SC Berne 3:2 (1:1, 1:0, 1:1)
IN: Schluefweg, Kloten
6762 Fans (89% of the possible attendance)
Referee: Roland Stalder, Linesmen: Dominique Hofmann, Laurent Schmid

Scorers:
2. Steinegger (Eigentor Brimanis) 0:1;
12. Lemm (Rintanen, Pittis) 1:1 (PP 5-3);
39. Pittis 2:1;
47. Bordeleau (Perrin) 2:2;
58. Guignard (Rintanen, Pittis) 3:2 (PP 5-3).

This series is paining me ...
Berne took too many penalties.
Lemm, Rintanen and Jenni of Kloten were outstanding.
Berne has to win today if it wants to stay in the playoffs.

HC Ambri-Piotta - HC Lugano 4:5 OT (1:0, 1:2, 2:2, 0:1)
IN: Stadio Valascia, Ambri
7000 fans (100% of the possible attendence)
Referee: Brent Reiber, Linesmen: Jürg Simmen, Adrian Sommer

Scorers:
19. Demuth (Camichel, Svensson) 1:0;
22. Sannitz (Metropolit) 1:1;
30. Toms (Demuth, Camichel) 2:1 (PP);
40. Gardner (Nummelin, Metropolit) 2:2;
46. Domenichelli (Du Bois, Trudel) 3:2 (PP);
48. Jeannin (Nummelin) 3:3 (PP);
48. Toms (Trudel, Domenichelli) 4:3;
56. Gardner (Nummelin) 4:4;
63. Vauclair (Jeannin/Eigentor Du Bois) 4:5 (SH).

I never saw that last goal, whether live nor on replay, but I bet all those Ambri fans out there nearly got a heart attack when it happened.

EHC Basel - HC Davos 2:5 (1:1, 0:3, 1:1)
IN: St. Jakob Halle, Basel
Attendance: 5076 fans (76% of possible attendence)
Referee: Danny Kurmann, Linesmen: Mauro Lombardi, Tobias Wehrli

Scorers:
9. Burkhalter 0:1 (SH);
17. Chatelain (Astley, Keller) 1:1;
28. Wilson (Riesen) 1:2 (PP);
35. Hauer (Jan von Arx, Reto von Arx) 1:3 (PP);
41. Reto von Arx (Hahl) 1:4 (PP);
41. Reto von Arx 1:5 (SH);
44. Zamuner 2:5.

Basel should really stop having all those penalties.
At least the result wasn't as bad as last time and they shot twice as many goals. :smart:

EV Zug - Rapperswil-Jona Lakers 5:3 (3:2, 0:1, 2:0)
IN: Hertihalle, Zug
4447 fans (65% of possible attendence)
Referee: Peter Kunz, Linesmen: Roger Arm, Peter Küng

Scorers:
3. Oppliger (Fazio, Ott) 1:0 (PP 5-3);
9. Micheli (Reid, Roest) 1:1 (PP 5-3);
16. Rizzello (Murray) 1:2;
17. Patrick Fischer (Camichel, Fazio) 2:2 (PP);
19. Petrow 3:2;
32. Eloranta (Reid, Roest) 3:3 (PP 5-3);
41. Camichel (Richter, Di Pietro) 4:3 (PP);
55. Maneluk (Patrick Fischer) 5:3 (PP 5-3).

This is a very close series. Lots of 5 on 3 situations which might decide in the end.
Look at the attendance. If I were Zug fan, I'd be ashamed!

Playouts:

SCL Tigers - HC Fribourg-Gottéron 5:1 (1:1, 2:0, 2:0)
Referee: Mandioni

Scorers:
13. Sutter (Leuenberger) 1:0;
14. Mäkiaho (Kamber, Holden) 1:1;
22. Moran (Larose, Miettinen) 2:1;
23. Moran (Stettler) 3:1;
47. Miettinen (Larose, Moran) 4:1;
58. Larose (Miettinen) 5:1.

Surprise, surprise!
Everyone though that Gottéron would dominate this series, but the Tigers are in the lead.
Or maybe Fribourg just wants to draw out the series because the club needs the money from the home games ... ? :002:

Genève-Servette HC - ZSC Lions 0:3 (0:0, 0:2, 0:1)
Referee: Prugger

Scorers:
21. Blindenbacher (McTavish) 0:1;
34. Steiner (McTavish, Karlberg) 0:2;
46. Steiner (Blanchard) 0:3.

Everything's open again. Both teams have won twice now, the momentum is with Zurich. I wonder if Servette can react.
