We’ve got to find ways to get points right now. It’s such a logjam, and we’ve got to find points.’’
We have the players to do it (finding more offense). We’ve just got to find ways. I mean, I thought Hiller made some pretty big saves tonight as well. We had some point-blank opportunities and he made some big saves. But we’ve got to find more pucks around the net, get around the net. We don’t have enough guys staying in and around the net right now."

Frustrated with where we are right now, I don’t think that’s the case if you look at the standings. I don’t even know where we are, eighth I think, so we’re still in playoff position. I don’t think we have even come close to playing our best hockey, so we’re still in good shape but we’ve got to turn it around. But it can get frustrating. Sometimes, for the guys, it’s almost better if you lose 5-4 than 2-1 or 1-0, because you have the sense that you did something out on the ice, that you did score a goal. But if we score four goals or five goals, I think we will be in pretty good shape, especially because we don’t give up a whole lot of goals. You’ve got a guy named Jon Quick who is pretty solid back there. So if we do get our offense going, I definitely like our chances.
Are we the most offensive (minded) team in the league? Probably not. Are we the most defensive team? I don’t know. Tampa is sitting back quite a bit. Minnesota is sitting back. Anaheim, last night, they were playing 1-4 (trap) right off the get-go. I guess that’s where the game is going, a little bit. It’s more conservative. Neutral-zone forecheck, that’s what it is. Everybody is pulling back. I guess the Devils played that just before the lockout, and everybody was getting on them about how everybody played the trap, and now it seems like everybody is doing it."

We’re all in the NHL for a reason, because we have the capability to make plays and do certain things. All of our offensive (minded) guys need to pick it up and find a way to create chances. I think we’ve done a lot better lately, but we still have a lot of room for improvement, and we’ve got to do that."

An icing, when you’ve got about six inches more to get to the red line and you ice it. And then the faceoff. We’ve seen those several times this year already. We’ve got to get through it. I thought we generated some good opportunities here tonight. Hiller played well, he made some big stops. We had plenty of good looks in point-blank situations, I felt. I liked our attitude about pucks to the net. We had more traffic at the net. It was better. If you do that consistently, you’re going to get some more goals. That (Voynov’s goal) should be a good momentum boost for you, to come back and go into the third period in a 2-1 game. They’ve had a tough time here in the third period in the last couple games. It was not something we talked about, their game, but we did talk about the importance of that goal, and you’ve got to be able to take advantage of the momentum and go right back at them. We’ve got to get back to work tomorrow. We’ve got a big game coming up now. We have to move on and get ready for Minnesota."

We anticipated it, from what we saw at the end of the year last year, when a lot of teams started to go more defensive through the middle of the ice, at their own blue line. So we loosened up that second forechecker to get in faster, to help support and recover pucks. We’re getting our share of pucks in the offensive zone. The one thing we did a little bit better last night, and it’s starting to come, is we moved our feet, with possession of the puck, to create some time and create some space for passing lanes. That was better last night, and we’ve got to continue to push it."

This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER

The Kings usually play pretty well against the Wild and it would be nice to get a decisive win over them.

Win! But... make sure you score at least 3 goals in the process.
I have a prediction: the Kings score 3 or more goals in the next one and lose. Who is that for pessimism?

It would also be nice if they Kings won because they dominated, and not because the other team had a bad night. But I won't get my hopes up.

Just dropping by to say that you've practically won already, Minnesota Wild has gone 5-2-5-2-5 ever since 29. Oct., so it's a mandatory loss for us. Nevertheless, will be an interesting game to watch. I personally haven't seen LA play so far this season, so I'm looking forward to it.

If you had, you wouldn't call this a mandatory loss no matter what pattern your team has followed. If the Wild can score three goals, they are pretty much golden. If they have a lead going into the 3rd, you can go ahead and stop watching and just add another W in the win column
