Devils looked great certain times and not so great others. I'd say they played a pretty decent road game. They did create a lot of strong chances but just couldn't convert. They easily could have potted 5 tonight without question.

Our defense is just too slow imho. What's making matters worse, and this is purely a strategy issue, is that their positioning is just off. To me, they're just too far up when in the offensive and neutral zones. Teams are feasting on this. I get that they want the offense to be involved but they just do not have the speed to get back when the puck is turned over on them. Way too many times you'll see the opposition breaking free along the boards or even through center ice. Good example of this is when Kovy had a shot blocked between the circles (forgot exactly when) and bam, before you know it, Toronto is coming back with #'s on what should have been a harmless play.

I am not saying the Devils dominated the whole game. However, they played a very solid game and leafs got two lucky goals (well at least the first one). Its not like they turned over the puck all game long or gave 5 million breakaways this time. A lot better then the last few games I say.

It's absolutely wonderful to see Clarkson coming into his own this year...

He's earning every single penny of his $2.67M hit.

Great game by Kovalchuk.

Bad penalty by Elias.

Larsson got coned. Played well otherwise.

Clarkson 1st star.

Solid game by Tedenby.

Obligatory vintage Brodeur save.

Thank you guys.

Best part of the game was Chico's ramble about the cupcake.

Kovy looked floaty, Larsson with a bunch of head scratchers, Clarkie pots the OT winner, I'm alright though.

PK at ~95% a third of the way into the year, without arguably their best PKer

that amazes me, especially considering how bad they are 5 on 5

It's so hard to really be stoked about a game like that because you know if they play like that every game and throw away leads they're going to lose 90% of the time. I fist pumped pretty serious when Clarkie put that away, but these problems are not going away and there hasn't been much to suggest upward progression. This win doesn't mean they "get it".

Larsson got coned, but played pretty well otherwise.

Elias + his crummy line were gassed completely after the first. Tedenby only sign of life, but he's a bad player to have on last 5 minutes. Zubrus is much more reliable there.

you take wins any way you get them.

there have been games we deserved to win but lost, and vice versa.

Stop whinin folks, we got 2 points which we haven't done in forever. Just pray that this team starts gelling and shores up defensively. Zajac will be back soon and help our our depth.

Our d zone and PP is still pretty poor. 2 PPGs against toronto is lol to me

For 90% of the game the Devils were easily the better team.

If the Devils don't dominate, it's a bad game. Seriously people?!
Forget the fact Toronto picked their game up in the 2nd which is why it LOOKED like the Devils were bad.

Forget the fact Toronto is one of the better teams in the East.

Forget the fact Zach hit a post, and Elias missed a couple of glorious chances.

This game should have been 4-1 Devils in regulation. Marty should have stopped the Frattin goal too.

Deboer's response to being told that it was their first points since thanksgiving : "Oh really? Is that Long? Har Har har Har Har Har!"(*probably thinking : 'God we suck'*)

Any Dman can get burned like that at times, with a perfect pass and timing by the receiver there is not much a Dman can do. Larsson done well to keep him that far to the outside.

I think he wasn't happy....just that he was trying to pull a Lemaire but NOBODY can pull a joke like Jacques could.

I'm not overly impressed with Deboer still.

D zone and PP are mainly coaching and are poor at the moment.
