I think his hitting will be fine, he's been a great hitter his whole life, he was MVP of the PCL the year he debut with the jays. However you are right about his defence he is flat out awful. Never mind how horrible he is trying to throw out base stealers, but horrible pitch calling. He said in an interview once he calls pitches based on what he thinks would be difficult to hit Not only that but he refuses to block the plate, he's too scared. Anytime there is a play at the plate he's positioned 5 feet in front of it, then tries to reach back. I won't even get started on his ability to block. Anyways, point is, as you've said correctly D'Arnaud was the far more valuable piece for the mets than Arencibia would have been. The Jays gave up A LOT for Dickey

Braves get Justin Upton and Chris Johnson from D-backs for Prado, Delgado, Drury, Ahmed and Spruill.

Lineup?

C - McCann
1 - Freeman
2 - Uggla
3 - Johnson/Francisco
SS - Simmons
LF - J. Upton
RF - Heyward
CF - B.J. Upton

WHAT! Damn wish Chipper was still around.
Hate hate hate losing Prado. Wish we could have gotten them to take Uggla or different prospects. Though I know they don't need Uggla. Can't argue though that we've got one of the best if not the best outfields in baseball now.

Braves have a dynasty-esque outfield with Upton-Upton-Heyward

Wren tried to lock him up long term. He wasn't having any part of $12m per year. Boras is his agent so we know he wasn't staying past this season. I hate it too, but its the sad truth.

This outfield is so powerful and so fast.

How many strike outs you think we will have this year?

Sucks to lose Prado but it wouldn't stop me from pulling the trigger on this trade, especially since we got to keep Teheran and Graham. My lineup would be:

Simmons
Heyward
J. Upton
Freeman
B.J. Upton
McCann
Uggla
Johnson/Francisco
P

Good to hear, especially on the Heyward batting second part. Statistics show that the 2nd spot is actually the highest leverage spot in the lineup and Heyward is the perfect fit, We can also alternate righty lefty down the whole lineup making it a ***** to go through, especially for bullpen guys.

It's going to be really cool watching Upton-Upton-Heyward in the outfield. One thing though, all three of those guys have a tendency to strikeout a lot and can be streaky players. I still think J Up has 40 homer potential in him. If Heyward and J Up reach their potential upside, that could be a very fun duo to watch for awhile.

The Mets are on an 11 game win streak, which ties a franchise record.

They've reached that mark four previous times in their history. Two of those four times were in 1969 and 1986, years in which they won the World Series.

So definitely a good sign.

(Have to represent my Mets, since this board is full of Braves and Yankee fans.)

If it makes you feel any better, what little baseball I follow (scoreboard/standings watching and some playoff games) I'm a Tigers fan.

I like baseball, just don't have time to watch games etc.

That he did.

Wish he had gotten the complete game, though.

Strawberry is making a bit from the Mets too still...well not Strawberry anymore after the IRS seized the contract and now some random guy is getting checks from the Mets that won it at auction.
