Whats going on with the radiowaves? (89.9)

I live in the south keys area.

My alarm always goes off to 89.9 in the morning, but for some reason yesterday, I was awoken to a french news channel instead.

I thought that I had maybe accidentally changed the channel, but nope. It was set to 89.9.

I went downstairs and tried the stereo in the computer room, and 89.9 was working fine. So I unplugged my alarm clock and brought it to the computer room, and magically, it played 89.9 as usual.

Now, when I brought it back upstairs and plugged it in, it went back to the french radio station. I tried it in other parts of my room, and it gets distorted reception, between the 89.9 channel and the french channel. Does anyone know if there is a new french station or something that has gone up in the ottawa area, with a frequency of something close to 89.9? I'm not sure what else it could be.. I brought the stereo from downstairs up to my room, and it couldn't play 89.9 anymore, but rather only the french channel. What gives?

I think it's time for a new alarm clock... Get Seguin one while you're at it.

Its not the alarm clock...

I'm thinking maybe the neighbours are using one of those 'fm transmitter' devices, that override the frequency of the given channel. But I don't know how it could go through my wall, and through 15 feet between the houses, and through their brick walls as well.. hmm

They had a fire on their Camp fortune tower. It's down along with CBC Radio 1 and Carleton U Radio.

Like I said, Black Monday.

"The bomb was at the transmitter."

Sheesh, no WKRP fans here?

If a radio station had to go out, I'm glad it was 89.9.
